INTRODUCTION
Corporate sectors has a huge need to connect with society and they are having a huge
potentials to deliver benefits to society by their acts. Each and every company use CSR
(corporate social responsibilities) to provide social benefits (Gido, Clements and Clements,
2014). CSR activities are having a huge need of management which can be possible by using
project plan and Gantt chart, this report is having based on Waitrose which is supermarket chain.
Cited company wants to improve health and safety of their employees by which they can
generate more better work. This report will have aims and objectives of company with CSR,
after this, it will provide a proper project management plan which is essential for this project. To
divide this project in to several parts Work Break Down structure will help to company which is
described under this project. To analyse effectiveness of CSR for employees it will make a
research with appropriate methods e.g. qualitative and quantitative. At the last of this report, it
will analyse data by using thematic analysis and provide recommendations for cited company.
PART 1
P1 Aims and objectives of project-management
Topic: CSR In Health And Safety Of Employees In Waitrose PLC To Generate More Work.
Objectives: Company wants to be more responsible towards to their stakeholders and mainly for
their employees because they can be successful in the grocery market on the basis of workers
support in achieving their business goals (Serra and Kunc, 2015). This Projects is having some
specific objective with this CSR projects which are mentioned under these points:
 Waitrose wants to improve it's market share by increasing their potentials of their
employees of workings, so they are having specifics objective to achieve 7% market
share at the end of year of 2017.
 Analyse where company can make a change in to working conditions to improve working
capabilities of co workers. Company wants to improve their sales by 4% at the end of the year 2017.
Aims of the company in this project:
 Waitrose is having aim to increase their sales by making ethical changes in working
conditions which can motivates their employees to work in a more better way.

 Company wants to improve their working conditions by which they can make a better
production of services to their targeted customers (Monachino and Moreira, 2014).
P2 Project management plan
It is essential for the company to manage this project, as the organisation is having huge
structure so it is essential for them to keep align all activities by allocating appropriate budget,
times and specifications of the project among their employees. Project management plan is a
document which is approved by the higher authority of the management which can help to
manager to implement their CSR project in to actual conditions (Nasrullah and Rahim, 2014).
Here is a project management plan for cited company by which they can execute this CSR
project in a better manner which can help to them to attain their aims and objectives easily;
Cost: As company is having different stores in the market and it is essential for them to keep all
of them align to implement these CSR activities. So Waitrose is having huge need of finance, as
they are having a objective of betterment of working conditions by which their employees can
feel more better in working time in company. So they have to make changes in the internal
environment of company. So on the basis of previous CSR projects in the same, higher
management can assume that it can take a cost £50000 to implement effective changes in to
company.
Scope: These all changes has to be done in the internal environment of the company by which
they can provide more better working conditions to their employees. So it has a limited scope of
working in particular supermarket. But as company will use ethical and moral values in this
project they will ensure all changes has to done with qualitative work which can make a positive
impact on the health and safety of employees.
Time: As the project objective this project will consume a time of a year by which company will
make better changes in to their working conditions (Prozzi and Rajbhandari, 2014). So according
to this time they have to divide their all work in different time frame which can help to them to
make a better change in the organisation. Another thing is that Waitrose has to develop better
strategy to analyse needs of employees to full fill their moral needs.
Quality: It is a must element of this project CSR is based on the morality and ethics which can
help to the company to make a better change in the organisation. Health and safety precautions
has to be qualitative by which they can provide a better services to employees, this can motivate

them to work more better for their organisation ans as well as by this they can feel more safe
while working.
Communication: As they are having more than 300 stores so it is essential for the management
to make a proper communication in between all team which will be implement this CSR project
in actual conditions ( Snyder, 2014). All process has to be done in the same time frames in each
and every store of Waitrose so they have to make a proper communication via suitable medium
like; e mails video conferencing for formal communication and telephonic communication for
informal.
Risk: As company is investing a huge amount in this project so it is essential for them that this
project will make a better outcome according to their aims and objectives. Another risk which is
committed with this project of completion of the project in the pre decided time frame. Waitrose
is having an objective to accomplish this project in a year so it is essential for them to align their
all work according to time frames.
Resources: As this project will work on employees and by making changes in tangible assets of
the company so it has a huge needs of human and financial resources by which they can analyse
human needs and full fill them by making changes in the company.
P3 Work break down structure and Gantt Chart
It is essential for the company to arrange all project activities according to time so they
have to divide their work in to different activities which can help to them to conduct these
activities according to time frame. Most of the companies are using Work Break Down Structure
(WBS) which supports them to conduct all activities and attain their objectives in pre decided
time line.
Work Break Down Structure: It is tool which can be utilised in to making a project in to
smaller components which can help to them to make a better activities in the organisation
according to their need (Leach, 2014). It is an important tool for project deliverable by which
Waitrose can arrange their employees in teams according to sections which are defines in to
work break down structure. As the company wants their development in their sales and market
share by making changes in to working conditions of their workers. This is the objective of the
company which is also decided by the management in the first stage of work break down
structure.

According to this work break down structure, Waitrose has to make an analysis of needs
in which they conduct a CSR, after it they have to set aims and objectives of the CSR project
which can help to them to make a better activities. After it another team has to make a proper
project management plan and then small scale research which can help to them to identify needs

Gantt Chart: This is a chart which shows that which shows the progress of a project by
horizontal lines, also it provides a detail of accomplish work and how much remaining in the
project. Most of the companies use Gantt Chart for different types of project (Şad and Göktaş,
2014). In CSR, Gantt chart has a huge significance to make a better project and accomplish all
activities in a pre determined time frames which can help to management to implement their
CSR activities in a better manner. Also by using this they can maintain project according to time

Now it is essential for the company to conduct proper research to i9dentify the needs of
the employees in health and safety needs (Li and et. al., 2014). It is must for the organisation to
determine best suitable method to identify needs of employees, here is two methods are given
which can help to the company to make a better change in the organisation: Qualitative research method: This is a most common method which is used by many
companies, it is useful to know about expectations, views and opinion of people. It
provides an internal view of problem which can help to the research conductor to develop
some more ideas on these problems.
 Quantitative research method: This is a analysis method which can help to company to
conduct a research to get statistical data from targeted audiences, this method will be
more effective to take a market research to derive numerical data from different kind of
market.
Two more ways are here which can be used by the company to conduct a research of
employees which can help to company to identify needs of employees;
 Primary data research: Waitrose can conduct a research by using this method, as they
are having need to conduct a research to analyse current needs, questionnaire, survey and
feedbacks are ways in which they can analyse their needs (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault,
2015). Questionnaire will be most suitable method for the company which can help to
them to makes a better change of the employees to enhance their productivity.
 Secondary data research: This an another way by which organisation can conduct their
research. Old data and data from government or other companies can be taken by the
company to make changes in the internal environment of organisation. But it will make a
less impact according to company's objectives.

In this section it is essential or the company to make a proper research of data which is
