in Bracknell, Berkshire, United Kingdom.
It is a part of John Lewis Partnership.
It exports its products to 58 countries around the world.
It is on Number 6 in terms of retailer in grocery products in
UK.
It has around 350 outlets in terms of supermarket and
Convenience stores.
Talking about its customers, famous customers forming part
such as Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Royal Family of
British.
It has competitors like Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and
Morrisons.

There are so many factors that affects the businesses which can be either from internal
or external environment.
Each and every company invest some amount in carrying out their marketing, research
and development functions in order to cope up with these environmental
functions(Elsantil and Hamza, 2021).
Businesses through above functions undertakes thorough study of the market in order
to identify the current needs of the market along with the company’s requirements and
then they formulate their strategies.

INTERNAL FACTORS OF WAITROSE
There are many factors that are in the internal environment of the business such as
the technology , Human resource, Finance and value system in the company.
Technology:
Software and techniques that aid in operations and production of the company
are known as the technology for any business (Elsantil and Hamza, 2021).
Waitrose has install many technologies in recent times such as rolling Ipads,
mobile payments and IoT(Internet of things).
Waitrose has generated high revenue that is 5% increment due to quick services
to customers.

By developing effective strategy at
Waitrose, they are successfully hiring
people for improving their operational
and production strategies.
Human resource includes employees
and managers working within the

Due to the reason of having skilled and

Political factors

not also providing minimum wages to their workers
which can have a negative impact over their existence
due the governmental interference.
Also, being in a FMCG sector, Waitrose must be abide
by the requirements of General Product Safety
regulation,2005 and Food Safety Act,1990 in order to
ensure smoother operations (Waitrose Company SWOT
and PESTLE Analysis. 2020).

It has been noticed that Waitrose has sustainable economic system due its
financial stability which creates an infrastructure to fight with the
recessionary condition in the economy. The financial stability of UK is
favorable thus proved to be helpful for Waitrose.(Damanpour, Sanchez‐
Henriquez and Chiu, 2018).
Social factors:
This factors includes changes in the trends, population and culture. They provide
the products on that area where people gave require of that product and purchase
the most (Elsantil and Hamza, 2021).
It was the first company that have led to the availability of the organic foods
among the people of the UK. This led to the increase in the trust and the
development of stronger market shares in the country (Mireku et al.2016, p151)

o Environmental factors include packaging, recycling processes and how the company’s are
introducing and implementing various appliances and equipment in their operations in
order to protect and secure environmental objects.
o Waitrose has undertake to ensure sustainability of the environmental factors in a way by
utilizing paper bags instead of plastic bags for their product packaging (Gürel and Tat,
2017). Also, Waitrose has achieved unique packaging which is different from the ordinary
packaging of their competitors.
