HISTORY OF WALMART
Walmart is a UK based company that have the department store chain. Walmart provides various
types of products such as grocery, food products, electronics,etc. It is one of the leading
multinational retail corporation that consists of a chain of departmental stores, hypermarkets as
well as the grocery stores. The headquarter of the Walmart is situated in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The chain of the departmental stores was established in 1950 by Sam Walton and opened the first
Walmart discount city store in Rogers, Arkansas in 1962. Walmart introduced the warehouse
club chain Sam's club in 1983. It's first supercentre was opened in 1988. Walton introduced the
second store in Harrison and provides good quality products and services.
In 1972 the first stock split of the company was occurred and till 1977 it made its first corporate

have approx 11, 000 stores in different countries. The firm is successfully operated in United
