INTRODUCTION
Academic skills play an important role in elevating success in student’s career. There are
numerous benefits of academic skills that students can opt for so as to make professional career
(Zlatkin-Troitschanskaia, and et al., 2018). Enhancing academic skills facilitates in increasing
competencies, confidence and self-esteem. In addition to that, it also helps in reducing anxiety
related to academic and professional career. This project report will cover a brief introduction of
academic skills and facilities of Waltham International College. Further, it will cover a self-
reflection that depicts how I feel about services and facilities of college. At last, it will depict
recommendation and conclusion based on report.
TASK
College facilities are crucial to students as it facilitates in making study easier with various
amenities. Various colleges provide facilities to their students related to their studies and
accommodation. There are various students who belongs to different countries and it becomes
difficult to manage their expenses along with studies. Waltham International college renders
discounts and scholarships to students who cannot afford high fee of college. This initiative is
taken by college so as to encourage brilliant students and to provide them an opportunity so as to
showcase their talent (Thompson and Miller, 2018). Providing scholarship helps them in
lowering down of excess burden of expenses and they can easily manage their studies. College
do not only provide discounts but also provide study material so that no student can deprived
from studies. Along with providing discounts, college also provides employment opportunities to
students so that they can take advantage of it. They can showcase their talent and this contributes
in enhancing professional career. In addition to that, company conducts placements in which
many companies hire students right from campus. This will help students in enhancing
professional career. In order to enhance employability career, there are various skills that can be
gained from tutors and can be applied in professional career to promote self-development. It
offers various skills such as communication skills, leadership skills and all other employability
skills that can be used by students (Sokhanvar, Salehi and Sokhanvar, 2021). The library of
college is very big and students can take book so as to enhance knowledge. It is important to
have a library in every college so that needy students can take help of it and can return after
completion of semester. This facility is important as it allows students to wider their horizon of

knowledge and can apply in their professional career. Libraries in colleges have both academic
and non- academic sources available to students. By this, students can get extra study material
according to their curriculum and can access to study material which is not related to their
studies for enhancing knowledge. In addition to that, it will also help in fulfilling academic needs
and contributes in professional career. It diverse life skills and can be used in enhancing personal
development of students (Ghanizadeh, 2017). The other experience that college consist is
induction as students are not familiar with other students and it is conducted so as to make them
aware about campus culture, rules and regulation and to make them comfortable towards new
environment. This will help students in overcoming from shyness and they can be familiar with
each other soon. All the above facilities and experience contributes a lot in student’s life and
advantage can be taken from it.
Reflection
All the above facilities and experiences helped me in my various aspects. When I took the
admission in college, I was not aware of discount facility but college administration provide
discount and I was very happy as this college promotes and encourages to study. In the initial
days, I was nervous about new environment and I was not familiar to anyone. But, in otrder to
overcome nervousness, college have conducted induction program in which I make friends and
gradually my nervousness fades away. All the peers were supportive to me and we became
friends in a short span of time. This experience was memorable for me and I was happy to make
new friends. In induction, all tutors welcome us and they were very polite too. They politely
explain about supportive college culture and how it can be used in making learning effective.
The library of college is huge and students have access to library and can take book from it. Me
and my peers have used this facility many time and enhanced our knowledge.
Recommendation
All the facilities of college are up to mark and it encourages students in learning. Apart from it,
college should renovate its infrastructure and focus on cleanliness. In some cases, the floor can
be seen full of dust. College should also emphasize on bringing more professional courses of
another course and can introduce short diploma courses. This will help poor students who cannot
afford high price courses and with diploma courses, they can make professional career. College

should introduce both online and offline courses so that students can access to live courses from
distant location. They can also replay classes, when needed in case of absents.

CONCLUSION
From the above project report it was concluded that academics skills help in enhancing
employability of students and by this, student can capture various emerging opportunities. Along
with this, various facilities/amenities such as fee discounts, library facility and induction
programs facilitates in providing positive culture towards learning. College provides various
facilities and encourages students by giving discounts to needy students. Campus takes care of
student’s expectation related to studies, faculties, hygiene, infrastructure and many more. It has
to focus on introducing more professional and diploma course so as to serve at every level to
students.
