 The main reason for packaging in the warehouse is to reduce the damage of the items.
 The packaging which was developed included;
 aluminium containers
 paperboards
 Corrugated cardboards
 All the above packages were selected because of their lightweight and ability to offer enough
protection to the items

 Material handling systems used in the warehouse.
The systems used include:
 Conveyor systems.
Used to move goods from one position to another.
 Industrial carousels systems.
They are used to pick and pack. There are of 3 types.
 Automated vertical carousels
Vertical lift carousels
Horizontal carousel

 Occupation Health and Safety measures
Some of the measures which were put in place include:
 Ensuring proper Assembly and maintenance of the warehouse.
 Choosing an experienced provider to assist carrying out installations.
 Coming up with a well-designed inventory
 Ensuring Forklifting safety by employing licenced and experienced operators.
 Installing safety equipment

 Warehouse and stock security measures
 Some of the security measures in place include:
 Limiting the number of doors into the warehouse.
 Separating the loading/offloading bay from the staff parking.
 Installing security features such as surveillance cameras.
 Carrying out research before employing workers.
 Clearing The bushes and other foliage which can act as the hideout of thieves

can be used for;

• Carry out warehouse stock transfer receipts
 Radio frequency identification.
use of Radio waves to feed information between the tags which are attached to the stock
