AI Summary
This report investigates cloud-based solutions for an auto-parts warehouse management system, considering public, private, and hybrid cloud models. The analysis highlights the strengths and weaknesses of each, ultimately recommending a hybrid cloud approach for its balance of security and accessibility. Furthermore, the report explores agile methodologies, specifically the Unified Process and Scrum, to determine the most effective project management method for implementing the system. The Scrum methodology is proposed due to its suitability for software development projects and its alignment with agile principles, ensuring the system meets client requirements. The report concludes by emphasizing the suitability of the hybrid cloud and Scrum methodology for the proposed warehouse management system.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
Introduction
The report aims in suggesting the various aspects of cloud based solution that can be
recommended for implementation of the Auto-Parts Warehouse Management System. At this
stage the vision document and the design of the proposed system has already been finalized. The
report aims in investigation of the strength and weakness of different cloud based solution and
further discusses different agile methodologies which can be considered for implementation of
the warehouse management system. Identification of the most effective cloud based solution is a
crucial aspect of this project as all the data linked with warehouse management system will be
stored over cloud.
1. Cloud Based Solution
In this section, three cloud computing models will be discussed which are public cloud
model, private cloud model and hybrid model. In this section of the report, the strength and
weakness of each of cloud solution will be assessed to understand the most effective and
appropriate model on which the warehouse management system can be deployment.
Public cloud Model: The public cloud services is indicated as the computing services
that is offered by third party service providers. These services are hosted over public internet and
is made available to everyone (Goyal, 2014). The main advantage of public cloud model is its
cost efficiency. Furthermore, this type of cloud environment generally reduces the lead times
required for testing and deployment of the cloud model. The strength and weakness of public
cloud solution is indicated as follows-
Strength of Public Cloud-

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
1. The cost effectiveness is one prevalent benefit of public cloud environment.
2. In public cloud, the users do not need to buy, install or operate the servers or other
equipment like that of private cloud model (Sen, 2015).
3. Public cloud model is a time saving approach as the users need not worry about the
management of the data centers.
Weakness of Public Cloud-
The weakness or the disadvantages of public cloud are indicated as follows-
1. Public cloud indicates a risk of data confidentiality as data stored over this platform
can be retrieved by the other people as well
2. The information stored over public cloud is vulnerable to attacks thus risking the
confidentiality of the data (Lu, Xu & Xu, 2014).
3. The speed of data processing largely depends on the internet connection which is
another disadvantage of public cloud.
Private Cloud Model- Private Cloud addresses the major security risks of public cloud. It
is the computing model that involves provisioning of the private IT infrastructure that is mainly
dedicated for a single organization thus, eliminating the chances of data security risk.
Strength of Private Cloud
1. Security is one significant strength of private cloud model.

2. It offers the users with the benefit of controlling the data that is stored within the
organization.
Weakness of Private Cloud
1. Implementation of public cloud is quite costly which, is a disadvantage of private
cloud (Xue & Hong, 2014).
2. The accessibility of the data stored over public cloud is quite limited.
Hybrid Cloud: The hybrid cloud model addresses the weakness of the other two cloud
models. The hybrid cloud offers the security which is absent in public cloud. Apart from that,
hybrid cloud can be implemented in a much lesser cost than private cloud
Strength of Hybrid Cloud
The main advantage of this cloud are indicated as follows-
1. Agility is the key benefit of hybrid model.
2. It is an aggregation of the other two cloud models (public and private)
Weakness of Hybrid Cloud
The main weaknesses of this cloud model are indicated as follows- ‘
1. The initial deployment cost of hybrid cloud is quite high although it proves to a cost
saving approach in long run
2. Security issues can be observed when switching from private to public cloud.

5
SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
On analysis of the above three cloud models, the cloud based solution that is proposed for
the warehouse management system is hybrid cloud. This is because this cloud model offers
security and easier accessibility of the data stored over cloud.
2. Agile Methodologies
In this section, two agile methodologies are discussed. The Unified process and Scrum
methodology are discussed to recommend an effective process for implementation of the
proposed warehouse management system.
Unified Process (UP): The unified process is an iterative software development
framework. This framework of software development allows customization of the project
processes as per the needs of the organization (Kumar & Bhatia, 2014). The UP model has four
phases which include inception, elaboration, construction and transition. The first phase is quite
analogous to the requirements gathering phase in waterfall model. The elaboration phase deals
with development of the user cases and detailed architectural requirements of the project. In the
construction phase, the actual code of the project is written and the first iteration is rolled out. In
the transition phase the next iteration is rolled out to the clients after fixing the bugs of first
iteration (Kumar & Bhatia, 2014). Thus, in this approach the bugs are identified and fixed prior
to the last iteration
Scrum: The scrum methodology is primarily used for projects that involves development
of a software. This principle mainly articulates a set of values and principle that guides decision
making associated with a project (Lei et al., 2017). Scrum is considered to be a sub group of
agile as it values the principle of agile.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
On evaluation of the above two methods, the scrum methodology is proposed for the
system that is being proposed. This is because scrum methodology is mainly used for software
development projects and it follows agile manifesto, which ascertains that the project is delivered
as per the requirements of the client (Permana, 2015).
Conclusion
The report discusses the cloud based solution that will be appropriate for implementation
of the warehouse management system. The report recommends the use of hybrid cloud approach
for deployment of proposed warehouse management system. The report further identifies the
suitable methodology that can be used for deployment of the system. Scrum project management
method is recommended as it will ascertain development of the system as per the needs of the
clients.
