Introduction
Jack Greig and Danil Cox has considerable experience in management and running of an
auto-part business as a major supplier in the city of Australia. Most of the businesses are linked
with a warehouse management system (WMS) (Richards, 2017). The WMS in the auto-art
business of Griel and Cox has certain limitations and therefore, a system vision document is
being developed to identify the problem, capabilities and the benefits of a new WMS (Atieh et
al., 2016). The system vision document that is being prepared will help in analysis of the
feasibility of the system that is being proposed.
1. Problem
There are certain problems that are being faced with the current WMS. The system is
incapable of handling dynamic procedures which is related to storing and moving of the store
inventory when it is required at a peak efficiency and in lowest cost. Appropriate functioning of
the WMS is necessary to ascertain accurate functioning of the system (Richards, 2017). The
issues that are faced in the current warehouse management is extended to the core warehouse
processes as well. The problems that are faced in the current warehouse management process
should be mitigated to ascertain proper running of the business processes. The basic operations
of the WMS is to be improved for addressing the capabilities and the benefits of WMS.
A business system analyst has been assigned to develop a particular system. The basic
operations of the WMS is needed to be improved in order to ascertain normal operations of a
organization (Battini, Persona & Sgarbossa, 2014). With an aim of improving the current
operations, development of an improved warehouse management system is needed to be
developed.

2. Capabilities
The capabilities of the proposed system are needed to be identified to check the
feasibility of the proposed system (Lam et al., 2015). As a business system analyst, it is
necessary to develop the warehouse management system in an effective manner so that the
normal functionalities of the warehouse can be carried out in an effective manner. The
capabilities of the proposed system are indicated as follows-
The system will be prompt enough to perform all the essential functions of the warehouse
management system (Eroshkin et al., 2017). These essential functions include functions such as
receiving the different types of orders, their inventory control along with processing of the
orders.
The system that is proposed is further capable of effective order processing, timely pick
up and processing of the orders, effective inventory control and management of the order load
(Richards, 2017). The outbound documentation system alert and packing of the orders are
another capability of the system.
Another capability of the system is management of distribution of the center in an
effective manner so that the operations are improved. The extensive functionality of the proposed
system can help in decreasing the cost of operations of the system and increase in the
productivity of the WMS.
Therefore, it can be said that the proposed system is capable of managing all the essential
functionalities of the system and can help in addressing the operational inefficiencies of the
system. The new WMS that is proposed should be implemented in Auto-Parts so that it can help

3. Benefits
The system that is proposed has a number of business benefits. One of the most
significant benefits of developing the system is to address the shortcomings of the existing
system. This in turn improves the operational efficiency of the organization, which is needed at
this moment (Richards, 2017). Another effective benefit of the proposed system in that the new
system is effective in timely report generation (Erkan & Can, 2014). The system is capable of
effective load management which is another benefit of the system. The crystal reports that are
generated help in effective inventory control and provides an idea of the business needs. This is
another benefit of the proposed system.
Conclusion
The system vision document that is being developed provide an idea of the basic issues
that Auto-parts business are facing. The particular warehouse management system is incapable
of handling the highly dynamic problem works of the organization. Therefore a new and
improved warehouse management system is proposed that can help in managing all the vital
business operations in a proper manner. The capabilities and the benefits of the system is
discussed in the above report. The discussion concludes that the new system that is proposed is
completely capable of handling all the operations of the company.
