account the key factors that make it an effective center of distribution. there are various factors
that need to be considered while setting up a warehouse for the business in order to ensure
effective commodity storage and distribution processes, (Karim, Rahman, and Shah, 2018). The
physical arrangement of the warehouse, environmental factors, political conditions, transport
systems as well as the overall geographical factors that are present in the location. This paper

In the world today, organizations are moving towards providing superior products to the

needs of the company ensures that the processes of product distribution and sales are properly

Transportation networks and sources are decidedly crucial to the warehouse requirements of the
firm. movement of inventory to and from the warehouse highly depends on the efficiency of the
transport network. The availability of properly managed and well-maintained transport networks
is crucial to the establishment of a warehouse. this is because transportation helps in improving
the delivery speed, costs and energy saving, improved service quality, effective movement of the
load as well as ensure optimum use of the facility, (Singh, Chaudhary, and Saxena, 2018). This
requirement highly goes hand to hand with the political conditions in the area as most roads are
owned by the government in place which is tasked with maintaining and repairing them. This is
achieved when the region is experiencing political stability that makes all functions of the
government to perform their duties optimally.
Closeness to the suppliers, inventory manufacturers and to the market and the local surrounding
is highly crucial to consider while setting up a warehousing and distribution service. It is
important to ensure that the warehouse is as close to the customers, producers and inventory
suppliers as possible. This is critical in reducing the activity lead time, reduce the costs of
transportation as well as improve responsiveness of the facility, (Zhang and Ping, 2017). The
essential factor to consider is to identify the supply chain partners of the organization which will
help in a strategic selection of the warehouse location.
It is arguably apparent that the establishment of warehousing services requires a proper and
thorough analysis of all factors that will affect its efficiency and effectiveness. The above-
discussed factors have a direct impact on the establishment of a warehouse and distribution
service.
