Upon reviewing the waste management policies of the hotel, it can be suggested that the
hotel can enhance its policies in a numerous aspects. Firstly, as per the case study, it is found that
the hotel does incorporate a number of strategies to turn waste into biodegradable forms of
energy. It is here that it can be pointed out that the hotel, besides efficiently managing its own
wastes, can even make sure that they train other companies surrounding them as well, for the
purpose of being a more responsible corporate (Kasavan, Mohamed and Halim 2017).

generating revenue for the company.

organization to pitch them about the changes, and the benefits which these changes would bring
to the organization, if they are adopted. Next, these departmental heads would brief the
subordinate employees under them about these changes, and how the implementation would
follow. Simultaneously, these departmental heads have to consider the various skills which
would be required by the employees to realize the proposed changes. Following this, necessary

training sessions have to be given to employees in order to ensure that every employee is on an
equal platform in terms of required skills to bring about these changes. It is suggested that those
employees who would resist the propose changes, will be given exclusive sessions of counselling
to assess their resistance and possibly eliminating them altogether. Last but not the least,
management departments must consider aligning the proposed policies with the corporate
philosophy of the organization for the successful implementation of it (Cameron and Green
2015).

As a manger it is needed that a detailed plan is created to address the wastage issue. The
communication should be done in phases. In the first phase a communication needs to be send to
the employees indicating clearly their responsibility. In the second phase the commencement of
the day of action and the desired results should be communicated. All the employees will be
assigned responsibilities to save energy and recycle. The managers are to supervise the hygiene
of the teams. The outcome desired is a 50% reduction in wastage in the first 2 months.

The support that I would need to provide is to firstly constantly motivate my team
members to reduce their wastage. Secondly, I will hand out the wastage data to the team
members each week. This data would be collected daily from the team. Thirdly, he people that
have the highest wastage generated would be given special support and feedback sessions by me.
Fourthly, I would take special team session to inform team about the benefits of reducing
wastage and saving energy. Additionally, I would also start a monthly rewards system based on
the team performance.

The monitoring activity would need to take place through the publication of daily, weekly and
monthly reports. This would include the monthly electric bills, calculation of the daily waste
generation and other important data. Turning off the lights can be calculated through using
