Should water be privatized? [YES]
Yes, it is important that privatization of water should be there as it is known as one of the
resources which is concerned with the overall supply and demand. It can also be known as the
economic good. Water is one of the natural resource that can be easily gathered as it fall from the
sky. To collect and process water it is necessary to install expensive system of channels and
processing plants. It is necessary to focus on removing the water which is not clean and also the
human waste so that it can be used for the society. It can also be stated that water should be
considered as the economic good then only it can be utilized in a proper manner. By considering
the domestic platform, it can be stated that unmetered access can be made by the customers if
they are not paying in reference to the overall quantity which is consumed (Ruiz-Villaverde,
Chica-Olmo & González-Gómez, 2018).
But on the national level, there are ineffective crops which are encouraged if focus is
given on the subsidiary offered to the farmers and industries. For example: In California, the
water hungry cotton is grown which impact the environment in the negative manner. By fixing
the price according to the exact cost can assist in boosting the overall efficiency and practices
that can be environmental friendly (Middlemiss, 2018). Drip irrigation which is considered in the
process of agriculture can be one of the instances.
Also, the problems related to water supply can be considered with proper investment in
reference to the emerging countries where people cannot access the water which is clean. It can
be analyzed that in the countries which are developed, water is wasted by the leakage in the pipes
and also through aging infrastructure. It can also be stated that the cash is not offered by the
public sector for this investment. Therefore, to maintain proper investment by the private
organizations profits can be earned through proper water charges that are related with the overall
cost of the supply. If there is proper regulation then the aspects related to quality and standards
should be maintained in a proper manner (Hall, Gossling & Scott, 2015).
It can be analyzed that water should be considered as the economic good as it is
important for the person who does not have strong background. In the countries which are
developed, the state subsidiary can be given to the rich. Water is also given to the middle class
sector and also to the wealthy farmers but it is not possible for the poor people to consume it in a

in every sector either it can be developed or undeveloped countries. So, it is necessary to have
proper privatization of the water so that utilization of the water can take place in an effective
