AI Summary
This project management assignment focuses on the development and application of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). The assignment begins by exploring the benefits of WBS in project management, emphasizing its role in managing projects across all lifecycle stages, minimizing risks, and tracking costs. It then presents two practical WBS examples: one for a company office relocation and another for creating an online booking processing system for student accommodation. The assignment includes WBS diagrams and a WBS dictionary, detailing task durations and dependencies. Furthermore, it differentiates between deliverable-oriented and process-oriented WBS structures. The assignment's structure includes an introduction, question-based responses, WBS diagrams, WBS dictionaries, and a bibliography of cited sources.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Question A:
Benefits of effective use of project WBS in organization for managing project throughout
each stage of the project lifecycle.
The work breakdown structure helps in managing the project throughout each stage of the
project life cycle. It is mainly utilized by the project managers for quickly determining the major
deliverables of the project which is further helpful in properly monitoring the project at each
stage (Siami-Irdemoosa, Dindarloo and Sharifzadeh 2015). The WBS is mainly used for
identifying and minimizing threats that are mainly posed by the project risks. In addition to this,
it is found that WBS helps in tracking cost and time of the project and helps encourage
accountability as well as transparency within the project.
