describes the working principle of the
weather radar technology to provide a
clear overview of the topic. The paper
contains classification of weather radar
technology along with the application
of the technology in various sectors
involving weather related
measurement. A section has also been
provided that describers in details the
research methodology which contains
the data collection and data analysis
technique. . The sustainability aspect
of the project has also been described
with adequate details.
Abstract
Objectives
There are several weather parameters
which has been chosen for the research
project. The parameters are “MAX TEMP
°C, MIN TEMP °C, AVP (mm) M, AVP
(mm) E, RH (%) M, RH (%) E, AVS WS
Km/h, Bright Sunshine Hours, Pan
Evaporation (mm) and Local Monsoonal
Precipitation (mm). The data has been
collected from the data base of
National Climatic Data Center.
Data collection
The data has been analyzed using the
ANFIS editor in the MATLAB. The
sugeno ANFIS setup is first performed
to set up the network in the ANFIS
editor . the model is then trained for
the data analysis.

Application
Weather radar is used in various
sectors like airport, marine, agriculture
for weather prediction. The radar
provide information about weather
condition which is then used for the
weather prediction like likelihood of
storm , rain and several others weather
related measurement.
Working principle
The radar works on the principle Doppler
Effect. According to the Doppler effect,
the intensity of the sound waves depends
on the relative distance between source
and receiver. Instead of the sound wave,
here the intensity of the reflected signal
from the rain droplets is measured which
gives an estimation of the speed of the
rain droplets. The intensity of the rain
droplets can also be estimated. The
information related to the speed and
intensity of the rain droplets plays an
important role in weather prediction and
serves the information for public use.
The objective of the project is to learn
the weather radar technology in
details and have a practical overview
about how weather data is collected
and analyzed for weather prediction.
