Critically compare the key online value proposition of the chosen website and the
competitor
UBER EATS - One of the famous food delivering app available in UK, it has grown its value in
recent times and has an increase in its number of consumers.
It is a three angled market place connecting restaurant owner, driver and the ultimate customer
through a network; it revolves around the three players: Restaurant pay commission on the order
to Uber Eats, customer pay delivery charges and sometimes cancellation charges; drivers earn
through giving delivery of ordered food on time.
World’s largest ride booking company took an interesting turn in 2014, making a food delivery
app initially called Uber Fresh, which connected people with restaurant easily by ordering food
online easy just as booking a ride for them, they invested in food delivery as it’s the fastest
growing business, getting impetus around the world.
Its value proposition can be discussed in six points –
1. Fastest delivery-
It promises to provide your food on your doorstep within 30 minutes of requesting in the
cities it is currently working, it works on the principle “We don’t want your food to travel
miles”. It not only delivers food fast but make sure it reaches you as ordered, hot and fine as
served in restaurants.
2. No minimum order concept-

There is no minimum order concept associated, so person can order from snacks to a full
fledge meal as and when required, there is a minimum standard delivery fee which ensures
all orders gets fulfilled on time irrespective of the order value.
3. Existing Customer Base-
It has an added advantage which is surely the existing customer base available to it which
comes from the existing Uber users booking rides which can become potential users of Uber
eats as well.
4. Better utilization of the resources available-
Uber as already known has an organized system of booking rides and a system to manage
drivers and cabs is already existing, which can be used effectively by making deliver food by
the driver who just finished their ride on the way.
5. Pinnacle algorithm-
Algorithm developed by the Uber is itself very effective and does a great job organizing and
managing the food delivery which consists of ordering, order dispatch and order delivery by
allocated member.
6. Global Presence-
As Uber has already developed a global presence of itself, so it is hard to beat them, they
may find some local competitors but it is definitely hard to be approached by any.
One of the major competitors for Uber Eats includes Zomato which has established itself in
recent times and is growing day by day its value proposition is also increasing as it is an
mind blowing concept which gives platform to its customers for rating restaurants in their
respective areas, also allowing restaurants owners to differentiate themselves from their
competitors.
It makes a bridge between the hungry customers and the restaurants serving them, providing
a complete pricing model which includes all the things related to order including the price it
would cost them to the duration it will take to reach them etc. of the delivery order.
It not only provides food to customers but also serves a loyalty program to build loyal
customer section which would be given added advantages like Zomato gold membership as
well as piggy banks incorporated in order to provide some additional benefits to their loyal
customers
