The aim of this essay is to discuss the need of learning in the professional
development of any person in this competitive world. It is mandatory thing that if a person
aims to soar high to be employed in a particular position in any reputed international
company or the company of his or her choice, he or she must have proper educational
background the matches the need of that particular post. This is the reason why the enrolment
in that course is a necessity and scoring good marks both in the theoretical tests as well as the
practical one is needed. In addition to this, not only the courses can help the person to gain
knowledge about the job requirements and skills but choosing particular subjects is also
important. Not every university offers same subjects in the same courses. There are different
subjects taught in different university for the same course hence the more effective subjects
are to be chosen so that these a help in the placement of the students at the time of job
application.
(A) Identification of the subjects required and already enrolled in:
I have completed the diploma course in business and currently pursuing the B.sc degree
of Business informatics. This stream of study prepares the students to deal with the
operational information in a company and its decision making structures. I aim to become a
web developer and study web designing and cloud engineering as major. There are some
basic differences in the course of business informatics and the course of web developing or
web designing because the latter course is focused on a very precise job risibility of the
former one.
The business Informatics program uses Business Administration models as well as
description in the techniques or process yours from the area of computer science. The
Bachelors Degree of business Informatics focuses on the algorithmic Modelling and it
specific approaches to answer the economic questions of the business. The business

Informatics deals with designing utilisation and the development of information and
communication system which are to be implemented in the companies. On the other hand the
responsibility of web developers is to create web based applications for the company. The
web developers understand various programming language and the job designing process
which enables the organisations to become technological advanced more than the
competitors. The web developing course can give me e knowledge about the content of the
websites created and implement the tools and links which can make the sites effective for the
audience. In this course I will be able to learn different programming language, web
designing process and database management. In order to become a web developer I need
industry certification and bachelor’s degree related to computer science. This is why I am
pursuing business Informatics course so that I can be a web developer having good
knowledge in cloud engineering and web designing.
In the business Informatics course I have come across different subjects like computer
science mandatorily along with mathematics and economics. In this course I have learnt
technical foundation of computer science and mathematical foundations of computer science.
The basic knowledge of programming and algorithms commodity structure database systems,
network Technologies and software engineering are also taught in this course. In the
mathematics subject I have learnt introductory statistics and mathematical modelling. The
importance of information security and Enterprise of information systems which are related
to the legal and societal aspects of business are also taught in this course. In the economics
subject I have come across chapters regarding finance, business law, production and logistics
and the basic principles of Economics these are related to business Informatics directly.
Now in the web developer course I require the subjects mainly related to the computer
science and information system. As I have mentioned before my major subjects will be cloud
engineering and web designing. Therefore I will find a university which will offer me these

subjects in the course. In this web developing course the subjects relating to coding and tools,
frontend development, backend development, JavaScript and coding and other software
engineering subjects need to be incorporated. As the entire operation of a web developer is
associated with coding for website building therefore I will first encounter with computer
languages which are taught in my business Informatics course. General coding and tools are
also taught as the subject. There are lectures associated with HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, and
jQuery, Bootstrap 4, PHP, WordPress, MySQL and APIs. My choice of subject will also
include multimedia which can give me hence to produce unique web designs.
(B) Identification and discussion of the key skills:
Web development is one of the fastest growing industries in this business world
because the need for technological help in business is constantly growing (Sousa and Rocha
2019). The need is leading the students to develop their skills for creating successful websites
for the organisations they are placed developers need to have effective academic skills that
minimise any error regarding their subject knowledge without questioning their professional
capabilities. Along with the in-depth knowledge of their field the web developers must have
some other organisational skills which make them adaptive with organisational culture of that
company where they are working. not only the academic knowledge is demanded by the
companies but the human resource manager only recruit those web developers who possess
certain interpersonal skills, team working skills, communication skills and analysis
capabilities. According to the learning and development theories any employee master self-
efficacy in their personality which help them to reach goals and complete tasks (Jackson
2015). It is the foundation of human wellbeing, personal accomplishment and motivation
which not only helps in flourishing the person associated but also the team in which he
works.

In the web developer job interpersonal skills are associated with the emotional
intelligence which motivate employees to use their knowledge and achieve the best result.
There are hundreds of skills which can be defined as interpersonal that very e according to
the workplace need and the level of responsibilities. The employers seek those candidates
who possess strong interpersonal skills because it helps in working collaboratively, display
commitment and communicate effectively when required. Among the interpersonal skills
having self confidence in the workplace is mandatory because this relates to the ability to
approach different situation and gain recognition in the workplace (Eubanks et al. 2016) .
Demonstrating self-confidence at every stage of the career I can and hope secure promotion
by improving the ways people can see my views, opinions and ideas. It can also help me to
deal with the challenging situations and set new goals.
Having strong work ethic is another factor of interpersonal skill which relates to the
professionalism, respectfulness and dependability. The more professional I am with my work
the more I will show respect to my job. It will increase my dependability in the team full of
other web developers and a strong work ethic will be established. Relationship management
is also included in the interpersonal skills of a web developer. As we work in in incorporating
technology in business, therefore relationship at every level of the organisation is mandatory.
This is an important skill which must be possessed by the ground level employee to
management which help to manage relationship with the partners, clients and colleagues. In
the relationship management, importance of communication cannot be avoided. Active
listening can lead me to develop normally expected verbal communication skills (McMurray
et al. 2016). Along with this the nonverbal communication which include body language and
gestures can reveal my attitude and approach to the situation.
As mentioned before I need to develop my oral communication skill because this
helps in sharing my ideas and knowledge as web developer is needed in business

organisation. For example my team is assigned to develop a new website for a product launch
which will include the contribution of production, operation and marketing team to develop
website to cover everything. This project will not be fulfilled until and unless I can make my
team members and other departmental teams understand my views. In this regard oral
communication needs to be improved so that I can successfully share my views through
public speaking (McMurray et al. 2016).
In any position in the organisation the employees need to have professional writing
skills which allow them to communicate with the management or with the colleagues.
Professional writing we define our purpose and ideas. There are various channels through
which business writings reach the management or the team members. It can be official email,
blog posts, web articles and social media posts that I use to reach my audience. The need of
using facts over opinion can help me to refrain from infusing my opinion into my writing. In
this case the choice of words and tone it is essential so that I can reach my audience more
effectively (Mencl Wefald and van Ittersum 2016). As I aim to be a web developer and
design website, my uniqueness will be e reached through to my communication style. Proper
organisation of the writing whether it is the official email or the social media posts, I must be
capable to use appropriate words every time to make the writing more effective. By keeping
my audience in my mind and their expectations from me can help me to develop business
writing skills.
The team working skill is one of the most essential one among all if I want to
become a web developer within few years. According to the theory of team roles by Belbin it
is seen that different individuals play different role in a team. One is the monitor evaluator
another is specialist (Mencl Wefald and van Ittersum 2016). One can be the shaper and
another can be resource investigator. With the help of the skills possessed by everyone of the
team members of the team can flourish. I need to be able to demonstrate my team skills after

I get placed in the organisation. Starting from contributing my organising and planning skills
to decision making I need everything according to the requirement of the projects. There will
be different problems like issues of various ideologies, cultural differences, and role in the
team and individual goals. In team building and Management there is need for or influencing
skills so that I can motivate my team members in a positive way and receive the feedbacks.
Through proper communication and negotiation skills I can manage many problems in my
team while working in a team of web developers.
Analysis and presentation of basic research information are always a core
requirement for the web developers. I need to be developing skills for analysing quantitative
and qualitative information for advanced study research and evaluation which will be
included in my web development projects (Kennan 2016). If I am not able to interpret
information I will never shine in the organisation. It may include the information regarding
demand trends or advancement in programme. In every case I must be efficient to
information into perspective.
Writing resume is a basic need to attract the recruiters towards me and my
achievements. Through Resume the recruiters of the organisation will get first impression of
my capabilities which will make them sort my CV from others. Hence I need to be effective
resume writer to create an effective profile in the competitive job market.
Finally the interview skills include effective verbal and nonverbal communication
and proper answer to the questions. It is the way to present myself to the recruiters therefore
in entering the job market I need to groom myself to be confident with myself and present
without any hesitation. There can be difficult questions that are out of expertise and some
personal questions also that can bother me but I must have strong emotional control so that I
can impress my recruiters and present myself to be a true and honest applicant to be recruited.

organizations the need of having in-depth knowledge of the field is not only expected thing
but the recruiters expect a competent employee who can adapt with any situation and set
