P1.3 Recognise the business constraints on the work experience offered
The process of developing website goes through several processes. These processes also
suffers many problems. Some of the problem are discussed below:
- Cost of a project estimated on the basis of project feature (John, 2011).
Solution: Setting up budget up front on the basis of features being used in website.
- Requirements are not clearly defined, requirements need modification due to business
reasons, and requirements does not lead to a suitable solution (John, 2011).
Solution: Consulting with client phase after phase of project, to avoid misunderstanding
between both parties.
- There are new releases of software versions everyday due to which upgradation of
website is necessary to keep website operation smooth (John, 2011).
Solution: Help client to plan a budget for its website’s upgradations. It will bit costly for him
but upgradation also bring him more visitors.

LO2 Understand the specific requirements of the placement
P2.1Agree and prioritise the tasks and responsibilities involved in the work
experience
Company gave me the designation of “Junior Web Developer” and assigned me to the team
working on web development projects. The team lead assigned me the following
responsibilities:
- Mock design of website
- Developing website frontend using HTML5 and CSS3
- Writing and editing content for website
- Styling and designing of content
- Design backend using PHP
- Design and establish Database for website
- Taking backup of website
As I have assigned responsibilities from team lead, next I will prioritize my task according to
its critical nature. For this purpose I am using MoSCoW (Kukhnavets, 2016) method to
prioritize my responsibilities. A brief overview shown in table below.
Mo

S

Responsibility that is important but not critical
Co
Could Have
Responsibility that will enhance the web development

My prioritized responsibilities shown in table below which are devise using MoSCoW
method.

Tasks Mo S Co W Reason for rationalisation of the order of tasks.
Mock design of
website
It is better to prepare mock design of website
because I can save much time in actual
implementation
Developing
website frontend
using HTML5
and CSS3

It one of the core responsibility of web
development. I have to develop website using
HTML5 and CSS3 according to mock design.
Without proper structuring website does not work
Writing and
editing content
for website
When website properly structured, then I start
uploading required content on to website. The
content will updated or edited according to
requirements
Styling and
designing of
content

It does not have utmost importance because when
content uploaded onto website it already fit into
desired style. But if client requires then we do it
Design backend
using PHP
I use PHP for backend development. Backend
development is one core phase of web
development
Design and
establish
Database for
website

Web development requires a database for many
purpose, one of them is user login data. I use
MySQL for that purpose and established database
for website to fulfil its requirement.
Taking backup
of website
It is necessary to take frequent backup of website
in case website crash, available backup will be
used
I have agreed the listed duties to undertake as a part of my work experience for fulfil
