Essay
AI Summary
This essay compares online and traditional shopping experiences, using the purchase of a digital camera as a case study. Traditional shopping offers the benefit of direct interaction with products and salespeople, allowing for physical examination and immediate gratification, but it requires more time and effort. Online shopping, conversely, provides greater convenience, accessibility (24/7 availability), and a wider selection of products, often including customer reviews. However, online shopping carries risks such as receiving unsatisfactory items or encountering fraudulent sellers. The essay concludes that the optimal choice depends on individual preferences; those who value physical interaction and immediate product assessment may prefer traditional shopping, while those prioritizing convenience and accessibility may favor online shopping.

Experiencing the shopping in online versus the traditional environment:
Nowadays, the popularity of the online shopping has developed very fast and has turned out
to be the part of daily life. The following study examines the experience of the online shopping
against the traditional one.
The buying of the digital camera could be considered as an instance. In case of traditional
shopping the consumer goes to the electronic store to by the camera and could interact with the seller
directly. This allows viewing, touching, feeling and trying the item directly (Kacen, Hess and Chiang
2013). However the visiting of the store takes much time and effort. Then let the online store is
visited. Here, the consumer could fetch much variety of products along with the feedback of the
previous customers. This saves much effort.
The internet is accessible 24 hours from anywhere. This turns out to be the main drive to
choose online shopping. For maximum customers the primary attribute of online shopping is
convenience and the ease of accessibility. However there could be risks for the customers if the item
is not satisfactory (Dai, Forsythe and Kwon 2014). Further there could be scammers who place fake
items unworthy of price making one disadvantage for online shopping.
As the consumer prefers physical activity, direct communication, comparing the items first
hand, then the conventional way is the better choice. However in this era of fast life style and to
avoid the crowds and highways with shopping at any hour of the day, the online is the best way to
go.
