CAPSTONE SUMMARY PROJECT 3
Website Design and Development for Auzi Security Services
Proposed Project Idea
Auzi Security Services is a new start up firm in the security sector, founded by Muhmmad
Anjum, who is the sole shareholder with 100 % share holding. The firm, located in Perth, Western
Australia, will provide on site security guards to buildings, assess and advice clients on security
needs, and refer clients to security equipment suppliers. To gain market share in the competitive
security sector, the start up needs to develop a profile for advertising, as a client contact center, and
to make itself known to providers, and create a good first impression to potential clients. This
requires a well designed and developed website with dynamic and up to date content relevant to the
needs of customers and clients. With tight budgets, the website will provide a cost effective means
for interaction with clients as well as being a platform for advertising, especially when linked with
social media platforms The website is also an excellent idea as a way of providing customer
management and service tools: for instance, clients can ask queries and get responses from the
website, as well as see the products and services offered by the company (Karibian, 2013). A
professionally designed website with social media links will help in advertising and promoting the
business, as well as letting the business know the sentiments from clients and potential customers
through user generated content (Song and Vinig, 2012). Thus, this proposed project is about
developing a robust, database driven and cloud based website for Auzi Security Services to help the
company meet its strategic objectives, such as having 25 full time employees within three years.
The website should be up and ready within four months (sixteen weeks)
Relationship With Client
The author has no direct personal relationship with the client (Muhmmand Anjum), other
than a professional relationship of a client and developer, having had been referred to the authors.
IT implications of the Project
The project is an IT based one, where the team will develop an interactive website for the
client, linked to social media platforms. The website will be used to advertise and promote the
business, act as a customer service point, and be used for E-commerce purposes where clients can
reserve, request for services and even make online payments (Moore, 2017); (Hallan, 2017). As
such, the project has a major IT implication, including determining the right hardware equipment to
use, web hosting, and choosing a cloud service provider to host the website online to ensure
availability, as well as backup and security. To build the system, MySQL will be used for the
database, Java for the various scripts, and Python also used for linking other systems, together with
PHP and Perl (for database scripts) and HTML5.
