Aim and objective:
To discuss the needs of having an e-book website for both the writer and the readers is
the main aim and objective of this report. This project form evaluates the necessary steps
required for creating a website for the book readers. The main objectives are:
The idea of publishing many e-books are getting old fashioned and giving the
least profit to the writers. Readers have to download the pdf to read a book.
There is a high need for a solution to overcome the stagnant method to
enhance the content that will create a better and smarter impact on the readers
(Fojtik, 2015).
To create a website where readers will be able to read the books, and the
customer will have the facility to log in and share the books they liked,
transforming the old method
Project overview:
The project form discusses the steps and the overview of the website developed for
the readers. Before adding a single template on the e-book website the most important task
was to create the structure of the website for the long run. The three main templates of the
structures that are EBooks, chapters and authors were very difficult to collect. The prime aim
was to keep the structure simple to easily maintain and scale the interface. For creating a
simple author website the platform of the website developer must be appropriate. The
recommended self-hosted word press is flexible enough and provides full control over the
website but this project has been done on basic wordpress.com which is free to use has
provided ease in building an author website. The basic WordPress has provided easy
exportation facility and transfers to self-hosted WordPress (Ratnayake, 2017). After the
completion of the primary structuring, the square space platform has been used to create the

interface more enhancing. This structure provides the flexibility and scalability to add all
chapters to the website. The final process comprised of designing and providing a firewall to
the application. The webpage has been developed with the help of WordPress and connected
to the server for updating the contents from the server side with the help of Apache Tomcat.
The domain name is created while creating the server base. Server nets like Weebly, Wix,
GoDaddy are avoided to create the domain. Admin header bar is customized to enable the
dashboard login systems with menu and widget functions. This option will help the customers
to log in and share the books they like to read and share with others. To maintain the daily
updates from the customers the email list is needed to be updated with the application. The
email lists were updated by the server side tomcat-apache. The website was ready to be used
with all contents updated and login feature was enabled. But the safety concern of the website
was pending. The plugins and add-ons were extracted in the script for the safety of the
website and the test run confirmed the security measures were appropriate for the website.
