Report
AI Summary
This report provides an in-depth analysis of website usability, focusing on key features such as learnability, efficiency, memorability, error prevention, and user satisfaction. It defines each component, explaining how they contribute to a positive user experience. The report explores the importance of a user-friendly interface, emphasizing the ease with which users can accomplish tasks, both initially and over time. It highlights the significance of efficiency in task completion, the ability of users to remember and reuse website functions, the minimization of errors, and the overall satisfaction derived from the website's design. Furthermore, the report establishes criteria for assessing usability requirements and provides recommendations for redesigning a website to meet user needs, with specific reference to the ASOS website as a case study. 1USABILITY FEATURE OF WEBSITE
Usability
The approach to the concept of usability describes the scenario of the handling of different
parameters of interactions and communications between the website application interface and
the user in a very dynamic and perceptive way. According to Memmel and Obendorf (2010),
the users of the websites can achieve their desired goals with the help of the usability
characteristic of the website which are the efficiency, satisfaction and effectiveness of the
website interface. In general, the requirements of usability features are measured in either
objective or subjective manner. The parameters of measurement depict the behaviour and
feelings of the users when they shop online. The usability involves mainly five major quality
components which are namely efficiency, learnability, errors, memorability and satisfaction.
This section also provides the suitable criteria that assess the requirements. This helps to
understand the strengths and weakness of the recent ASOS website. The recommendation and
suggestions for redesigning the website for meeting the needs of the users will also be
provided in the findings of this project.
1. Learnability
Learnability is about how easy is it for the website users to conduct and accomplish the basic
tasks, especially for the first time when they have an encounter with the website design. The
user interface needs to be user friendly and easy to handle by the website users where they
will be able to perform their desired tasks.
2. Efficiency
Efficiency of a website is measured and assessed when the users have already got accustomed
with the website and have learned to use it. The main concern remains on how early the
customers can perform and complete the tasks.

3. Memorability
The memorability feature measures how fast the users gains the competence and re-
establishes the knowledge of maintaining or using the function after a time period from the
last time of visiting the website. The websites needs to be usable by the returned customers as
and when needed by the user to maintain their relationship with the customers. This is a key
aspect for the companies to maintain their loyal customers.
4. Errors
While using the website the users end-up committing certain errors like inputting
inappropriate commands, using of wrong passwords along with wrong product selection.
These errors need to be diminished by the website developers. However, the process of error
prevention needs the understanding of the numbers of errors that are made by the users. Error
prevention also calculates the severity of the errors. It also strategizes how easily errors can
be recovered.
5. Satisfaction
Satisfaction describes about how pleasant is the interface proving to the users of the website
while browsing through the design. Number, frequency of the website, service quality,
support to customer, control and duration is needed to be measured to gain the satisfaction
report.
