Website Project: Development and Evaluation of a Wedding Planner Site

PART A WEBISTE
A wedding plan website is developed that consists of 5 pages. In this there are several
webpages each one showing different website content. The first webpage is home page of JS
wedding planners that shows overall business plan. The logo is inserted at top with name which
is written in calligraphy and observed easily (Dai and et.al., 2017). In this services section is
displayed which display different types of services provided by event company. Below this,
some links are given where it is briefly described about what services in depth. The next page is
services page which is opened by clinking on links given on given on home page. It further
shows specialized services and various offers provided by JS wedding planner. Third page is
display about company. It shows the data in which they are highly engaged. Also, it describes the
people of company who are working there. There is few information provided regarding their
position and department. fourth page consists of only images which reflects the work of JS
wedding. There is no information written in it. the last webpage is contact page in which
corporate address, contact number, e mail address of company is provided. Here, user can also
send their queries via various options provided by company. It can be noticed that each and
everything ranging from content to social site features are inserted accurately in it. likewise,
search option is inserted at home page that takes directly user to search item. Hence, the overall
site was good but it could have been made better by adding 3- D images in it.
Thus, it can be said that it is very attractive website that shows business idea in an
effective way. also, the user can easily access it as each webpage is having based on specific
theme. Another thing in site was its attractiveness and ease of use (Kleinschmidt and et.al.,
AutoVitals Inc, 2016). Moreover, content and images were placed in sorted order which makes
simple to understand. It will be easy for user to access site and its all webpages. Besides this, a
common design is been applied in it that makes it creative.
PART B REFLECTION AND EVALUATION REPORT
I was given a task to design a website of wedding planner. So, in order to develop it, I
realized that the first thing that requires is availability of proper resources and equipment’s. also,
the person must possess high knowledge and experience in developing website by using different
programming language. There are many other things which has to be taken into consideration
such as proper IT infrastructure, fund, etc. before developing site it is very important to decide

on what theme it will be designed. The development and success of site is dependent on this
factor. The first things that I did was to decide and select an appropriate website theme and
design, for this I searched on internet and observed many other websites related to wedding event
that how it looked and what type of design is been used. This gave me an idea to select the best
option. For this I did on thing I combined the design of one or two sites and developed a design.
It gave me many options from which I selected best one. Besides this, I also made some changes
in design to make it creative. It helped me in customizing it. Now, for development firstly I
developed a plan through that how many webpages will be there, what each page will contain,
etc. through this, it was easy for me to develop website. I wrote down the overall design of site
on paper and described in detail that at what place which thing will be placed. It was like a
blueprint of website for me. Other than this, I also decided which programming language can be
used. Thus, I selected one language that was java script (JS). It is because it was simple and east
for me to do coding and implement it. furthermore, I was having experience and I have
developed some small website through it. I also evaluated that I need to make changes in my
choosing technology so that I can develop more attractive and effective site. This will be
beneficial for my career growth.
The technology which I used in project was mockplus. Com. It is an online free available
tool for website designing. I chose this tool because it is free of cost and I have been using it in
past as well. In addition the benefit of mockplus is website can be developed, modification are
done in easier way. also, as it was available online so it saved cost and time as well. I was able to
design website.
After development of website I evaluated its performance. Through this I was able to find
out strengths and weakness of my design which is as below :-
Strengths- I noticed that my design is very simple and unique. The background colors used in it
shows theme on which business is based. Its attractiveness is very soothing. Also, the photos
inserted in it display unique and different style of wedding themes. Another thing that I noticed
is the services are segregated properly. Each service description can be found by clicking on link.
This gives ease to user in accessing it. these all was possible due to technology used by me. I
customized design by mockplus and tested it. then, I made changes in site.
Weakness- the major weakness that I realized in my design was it lack that attractiveness which
is required. Also, there was no details of price of plans displayed. So, for every plan they have to

ask the price and it consumers a lot of time to respond. This restricted user to visit website.
Another weakness was no plan details was mentioned in website, so user was not able to
purchase it as per budget.
I analyzed that by using high and advance website developing too, I could have made
better site. With that I can easily customize in more proper way and tested it. but due to lack of
funds and time I was not able to choose appropriate technology.
Usability and accessibility - I designed a website for JS wedding planners. For this I followed
certain accessibility guidelines that helped me in designing it. moreover, it gave me an idea that
how site design should be and what elements must be included in it. the guidelines that I
followed is as follows :-
Web accessibility standards – it contained many other guidelines which was followed. Here,
international standard that is ISO/IEC 40500 is maintained (Accessibility principles. 2018). it
must be met by designers or developers. They are describes as below :-
 Web content – it refers to content, image, etc. of any part of website
User agents- it refers to software or application such as mobile phone, desktop, etc. which is
used by user to access website (Mitchell, 2018).
 Authoring tools- The tools which are used by developer like database scripts, code
editors, etc. to produce web content.
 Content is easier to see – I placed content at that place that is easily visible to user. Also,
it was clear. The images placed contained equal distance from each other.
Usable accessibility – it included the method, process, etc. that are involved in use interface.
These are some practices which must be considered by developer. It ensures everyone should
understand how people with disability use web (Veltri and et.al., Weebly Inc, 2018). Involving
these people while design of project and evaluating web accessibility of users.
By using these standards, I was able to develop website. It helped in providing brief info
about how accessibility has to be maintained, etc. there were many other things which I
considered it.
From the above project I realized that I have made several mistakes in designing a
website. It affected my performance and ability. Also, due to this the site design was not up to
my expectations. I came to a conclusion that I could have taken help of a developer in designing
it. he or she would support me in designing and selecting appropriate technology. Apart from

this, the programming language used would be advanced such as python. With it more attractive
and advance site could have been developed. Alongside it, high definition images and relevant
content can be inserted. The site could have been made more flexible and attractive. However, if
application like webflow and notepad have been used in coding and testing, then outcomes
would be better and different. So, in future I will keep in mind to avoid these mistakes. This will
help me to gain knowledge about different technology and design.
