overall blue print is prepared to manage and complete the wedding rituals in an organised and
systematic way as a management function. A wedding planner is the one who is aware of various
ways of wedding that are reviewed by different cultures and at different times. There are various
socio-cultural implications of wedding events and it can be based on cuisine, customs and
traditions of couples. Different countries has different traditions and cultures so accordingly
clients demand for their marriage.
INTRODUCTION
Wedding is considered as the purest bond between two hearts and two families .Wedding
planning is referred as the most upcoming concept where a outline is been prepared by the
wedding planner to complete all the wedding associated rituals that is well organised. Some of
the key factors that is considered in making a wedding plans that includes location, pre wedding
plans, wardrobe, wedding theme, traditions, list of guests, menu preparations, return gifts and
location. Wedding planning helps wedding planners to take appropriate decisions by providing
effective guidelines and goals for future decisions (Daniels and Loveless, 2007). This report
mainly emphasis on the the wedding planning and wedding planner that are responsible to carry
out effective marriage functions. This report covers the socio-cultural implications of wedding
event. It also covers the comparison and analysis of various expectations of the stakeholders in
the wedding planning process. Moreover, it covers contemporary issues in relation to marriage
and weddings.
1) Socio‐Cultural Implications of the Wedding Event.
Wedding event is considered as holding wedding ceremony by inviting family members
and close friends in a comfortable and harmony atmosphere. It is a system in which wedding
couples and the guests can celebrate the wedding privately with guests with love and harmony.
Socio-cultural implication of wedding events refers as something that directly and indirectly
involves with the social and cultures aspects. Socio- cultural effects deals with different people,
family background, values, tradition, customs and culture (Moran, 2014). Different countries
has different culture, values, traditional beliefs and family background. Different religion has
different views of marriage. Christians believes that marriage is strong bond and covenant that is

established by God in creation and their Lord Jesus Christ has adorned this life by his presence
and miracle at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Thus it signifies them the mystery of union between
Christ, church and the Holy Scripture that is honoured among all the people.
In context to Christians, a wedding is much more than the uniting of two people who are
in love with each other. For them, it is concerned as joyful, solemn and sacred ceremony that is
before God and other people in which a woman and man promise to commit to each other and
joined together for a life time. Christian’s marriage includes invitations, flowers, music, dresses,
and photography. In context with location the marriage are usually occurs in church and after
that reception venue takes place which includes food and cake with light music. According to
social research scientists study across different culture marriage is considered as bounding that
uniquely brings couples close to one other.
In context to Hindu marriage they believes that the marriage allows to join two
individuals for lifetime so that they can pursue dharma (duty and responsibility), artha
(possessions) and moksha (spiritual release) all together. They main socio-cultural implication
that is observed in Hindu marriage is that it followed various traditional rituals for
consummation. They believes that without this consummation the marriage is not considered
complete. The Hindu marriage brings two families together and it is favours colours theme for
bride dress that is normally red and golden. Moreover, according to the Hinduism there are 8
different types of marriage which includes Brahma marriage, Daiva marriage, Arsha marriage,
Prajapatya marriage, Gandhava marriage, Asura marriage, Rakshasa marriage and Paishacha
marriage. In Hindusim there are various symbolic rituals in different areas and all follow
different customs. Sindoor and bangles are considered as symbolic signs of married woman. In
Hindu wedding event all the traditional consummation like haldi, mehndi etc are responsible to
create socio-cultural implication in the wedding event.
2) Comparison and analysis of the expectations of stakeholders in wedding planning process.
Stakeholders are whose that can effect or can be effected by the company's actions,
objectives and policies. In wedding planning event management organisation the stakeholders
that are involved includes individuals and the groups both inside and outside the organisation. It
includes those individuals that are having direct interest in the wedding event's planning,
organising, implementing and participating in the event. In context with wedding planning

events, the stakeholders that are involved in wedding planning are event organiser, event owner,
event Management Company, partners, funder, clients, investors and sponsors.
In context to expectation of stakeholders in wedding planning process, it is observed that
there are various religion, caste, custom and traditions all over the world due to which different
community has different style and method of wedding process. Every client or couple that is
looking forward to get married and are investing on wedding planning event organisation they
expect that their marriage arrangement are conducted well without any errors in any of
traditional consummation followed by them and their family members. Moreover, the wedding
couples and clients who are going to get married they expect that all the arrangement of marriage
are conducted within their set appropriate budget. The couple expects that wedding planning
services will provide them peaceful, harmony and hassle free services at affordable cost.
Wedding reception is one of the biggest and most expensive part of any marriage events, the
couples expects that there is proper sitting arrangement for guests, return gifts, catering
arrangements for all the guests who are attending their wedding ceremony. Selecting proper
location along with fabulous entertainment and delicious food is other major expectation that the
clients have with their wedding planner. All the couple expects that their wedding is conducted
with perfect combination of best wedding planners, best wedding decorations services, best
destination wedding and best theme management wedding planner (Laskey and Stirling, 2017).
In context with event organiser or event owner they expect that their client are highly
satisfied with their wedding arrangements. They works on different things that is required in
wedding plan which includes decorations, theme, dresses and food in order to convince their
clients and gain their loyalty and engagement over years. The event organiser expects that they
get value income for their hard work that they spend on planning and implementing a successful
wedding with lots of love and affection. Moreover, the couples expects different wedding
planning package so that they can decide the appropriate wedding planning for their marriage
according to their budget. Couples expects that wedding invitation card includes basic correct
wedding details which includes location of the ceremony and reception with correct date and
time so that the guests don’t find any difficulty in find the location of wedding ceremony.

Nowadays the world has been completely changed as it was used to be. There are various
reason and factors behind this alteration which includes changes in the social values. There was a

time when families used to believe and practice arranged marriages but with the changing social
situation of women families started believing that love marriage is not as bad as it is believed. In
Asian traditions both forced and arrange marriage have developed a furore over many years.
Nowadays marriage of convenience have created an upheaval that are uncontrollable and cannot
be stopped. In marriages where money exchange hands are entered, it is undertaken into for
circumventing immigration laws (Blake and Hussain, 2003)Nowadays, marriage have started
taking place for ludicrous factors like getting a health plan for the partners. There are many cases
of feigning legitimate relationship and one sided marriages in European countries. In order to
overcome this issues Immigration of Marriage Fraud Amendments Acts are implemented that
effectively dealt with issues to a large extent. All the social problems are deviations from the
ideal situation and it varies with time duration. Social factors like caste, class, gender, creed
directly and indirectly somewhere effect the marriage and wedding in some countries. Modern
marriage means friendship while traditional marriage means social acceptance. In many
countries like India it is myth that if couple goes with traditional marriage they get more respect
and loyalty from society in compare to going with other contemporary marriages. This myth is
somewhere affecting the marriage and wedding in various countries.
CONCLUSION
It is found that wedding planning allows wedding planners to keep track on each and
every activities of wedding ceremony and receptions. In addition, it allows the wedding couples
with their budgets along with supervising sticky details like legal contract of marriage. It is good
to hire a wedding planner as its saves couple time and pay attention to various activities.
Wedding planners stay on budgets and have perfect fresh ideas or themes to conduct the wedding
ceremony and reception well.
