philosophy, leadership impact, situational factors, and career influences

general electronic helm. Jack Welch accumulated large sums of revenues as profits increased
from $1.5 billion to 15 billion dollars. Also, Jack Welch’s leadership capitalized on ballooning
up to 30 times dollars the initial amount of $1.5. By his good management he decided to launch
an online business school which he named Jack Welch Management Institute (Verma 561).

advantage that the company has. In most cases good leadership has management scholars hence
they attribute to successful leadership.
Situational factors are business influences that do not occur within the individual or the
business but they always come from somewhere else. Situational factors are also external factors.
These factors include environment, work or school and the people who are always around you.
He had Jack Welch some situational factors which include leaders are supposed to relentlessly
team upgrade, make people see vision live and also breath, leaders to be courageous over gut
calls and making unpopular decisions (Cowgill 231). People tend to have dispositional factors and
they cite them over people as the factor for success. The examples include, ‘I worked harder for
that grade’, ‘I passes the exam because I am smart’ while people also blame failure on the same
situational factor. Examples are, the test was not fair on me or the teacher doers not like at all.
The Jack Welch leadership had so many impacts on people as they taught themselves on
ways to be leaders. These impacts include that all leaders are supposed to be generous and
celebrate success of people around them. This will give people recognition if they need it.
Leadership is appreciating sincerely and been happy when others succeed. Secondly leaders
disagree to make it right. This is because most of developing leaders are surrounded by people
who agree with everything are told and thus jack said, ‘don’t get paid so as agree on everything’.
Jack as a leader, he wanted members of his team to have courage so as to able to defeat those
who feel they have high authority (Katzenbach and Smith 85). And lastly the importance of this
leadership profiles that radiate energy as the organization feeds all the energy is off. Being in a
front line leader or being a CEO, nothing required in the middle to give people you serve some
energy. Energy it’s not a thought in leadership but those who have clarity and they have more
purpose in getting their destination.

transformation of altitudes and the emotional energy.
Why did you find this person and what did you learn about leadership from this profile?
The reason as to why I found Jack Welch and learn about his profile is that he passed a
lot of hard lessons so as to make sure his career and business strategies are successful. The
lessons that I learned from his leadership profile is that its failure that defines who you are and
not certainly can dictate what to be done next (Cummings 62). Even though career experts and
executives see that failure is not a funny thing but it is important thing a leader is supposed to
develop more than success. Mr. Jack mostly encourages leaders to resume of their failures
because it reminds people of resilience and it’s also ability which can make one to recover from
setback. Use failure to catapult someone or yourself into some exponential developments.

Does jack welch personal story reflect some of the leadership concepts discussed in this
course or in your reading?
As from Jack Welch personal story, there are leadership I have found from the reading.
These can be well understood as from leadership theories. Leadership is nothing like authority or
any position given but it is inspirational actions and behavior. Concepts of leadership include
initiative, flexibility, fairness, maturity, good personality and willingness to accept person’s
responsibility (Muller 95). These concepts help in decision making, persistence, ambition,
dominance, increases social skills, conceptual skills among many others. Due to these concepts,
they help in traits for individual leadership that lead to potential works each day. Also the life of
Jack reflects that each person is supposed to hold values and put them first, to create a learning
environment and culture, make everyone to be a player in the team, to have fun where possible,
