Introduction
Management is considered as the way of controlling actions and activities of specific group as
well as performing the functions such as create efficient planning and strategies, organising
business resources at all hierarchical level and motivate, direct as well as inspire them to perform
business operations with efficiency and effectiveness. On the other hand, leadership is the ability
of an individual that enable them to motivate and inspire other to perform operations in well-
defined manner that lead overall business in the direction and growth. To run business operations
properly, it is essential for business to use effective leadership and management that enable
business to perform all activities with efficiency and effectiveness. Case study of Welcon
Automotive Ltd is taken into consideration in this report which is multinational automobile
organisation. Mr. Jerry is the leader of Welcon organisation who adopts friendly and people-
oriented approach. In this report problems that management of organisation faces and solutions
to resolve these problems with efficiency. Efficient management as well as leadership theories
that enable business to resolve the problems and some practical recommendations are explained
in this project report.

Discuss and critique the problem that the organization is facing, arising from the management or
leadership style
The employees can be dissatisfied with the management and leadership style chosen by a
company. Excessive use of management and leadership in the organization can lead to cause
negative impact on performance of employees. The performance management of employees
should be regulated by top level and strategic management of a business in order to minimise the
negative impact. It is also one of the crucial and major duty of a company's management to take
into consideration application of management information system and digital technology tools in
order to gain growth and expansion (Reynolds, and McKimm, 2021). All major companies in the
international and national marketplace should focus on development of various tools and
techniques that are important for business development. The different methods and approaches in
leadership style should be implemented with support of effective measures to ensure employee
satisfaction. It is major and ethical duty of human resource management to focus on development

of employees in order to gain competitive advantage. The management should also focus on
analysing wants and needs of employees and fulfil them with help of key goals and measures to
lead the competition. It is also one of the major duty of management to find out optimum ways
of handling performance of employees. The leadership style should be chosen by a company
with help and support of key functions and operations that are based on professionalism. In the
era of stiff competition between different companies, it is crucial for a business entity to focus on
choosing effective management style according to preference of employees (Rich Singleton, and
Wadhwa, 2018). The business organizations at the marketplace should also focus on analysing
key competitive strength of a business by taking into consideration employee's goals. In order to
increase the efficiency and effectiveness of a company, it is important for company to develop
major and systematic approach. All major companies in the marketplace focus on analysing key
policies and goals in order to develop systematic operations.
There are various companies in the global and domestic marketplace which focus on
choosing correct leadership and management style by focusing on preferences of employees. It is
ethical role of strategic management of a company to facilitate planning and development of a
company by taking into consideration future needs of organization. The different companies
which are focusing on choosing appropriate leadership style gain good growth at the
marketplace. Also the management of a company should follow key ethical practices which are
important for well managed business operations. In the corporate world, choosing best leadership
and management style impacts on various important operations of the company. Business should
take into consideration application of management tools and techniques with support of digital
technology to perform accurate and quick business operations (Spurgeon and Cragg, 2018).
Companies should also apply and create a virtual and friendly environment for the employees
and perform systematic operations. The feedback should be also taken from employees on time
to time basis for performing essential modifications in the business. Business entity should also
develop key ethical operations in order to support development of performance of employees.

Jaaffar, 2020). Welcon faces problem in executing structural change in organisation with the
objective of reducing organisational cost. It is the problem that create high problem for
employees to perform their defined task along with implementing change strategies. Business
uses some management as well as leadership theories and styles that help business to resolve
problem in efficient manner and help business to attain determined goals and objectives with
efficiency.
Transformational leadership: The concept of transformational leadership is related to
developing and maintaining effective relationship with employees so they feel motivated and
perform their operations with great efficiency and effectiveness. Mr. Jerry who adopts people-
oriented approach to inspire and motivates to adopt changes as well as make efforts to transform
themselves to perform task properly. This is the appropriate leadership style that is used by
Welcon organisation to solve specific issues and difficulties that are faced by the organisation in
the process of executing structural changes business to reduces organisational cost as well as
overall business profits. Leaders motivates employees perform efficiently and pushes their
efforts to reach towards higher potentiality (Anggini, 2021). Through executing this leadership
theory, leaders of organisation transform employees and resolve business problems. In this case,
it is important for the business leaders to adopt structural changes that enable business to attain
determined goals and objectives in efficient manner. This leadership theory, enable management
of organisation to develop effective relationship with employees that motivates them to adopt
and implement changes with efficiency and effectiveness. In organisation Mr. Jerry bring the
issue regarding employee’s problem to the management of organisation to take efficient decision
on the topic with the objective of resolving recent problem that is faced by organisation.
Situational leadership: It is the theory of management and leadership in which leaders of
organisation analyse the situation and take decision as of selecting appropriate leadership styles
that fit in that particular situation. Welcon organisation has taken action to execute structural
change in business in business operations and practices to reduce business overall cost and
expenses. In the process of implementing change in business, employees faced difficulty in
performing their defied job role and responsibility as per the implementation of cost cutting
strategies. Respective organisation do not develop any alternative of strategy that could be

implement in same situation in the case of failure of one strategy. Organisation ned to analyse
the situation than take decision to resolve the situation in best possible manner. As business
adopt autocratic leadership in which leaders and higher authority of organisation have power to
take decisions so, employees have to wait for the authorization from top management department
to take action that wasted their efforts and time (Rosidi, & Andayani, 2021). If organisation
adopts decentralised leadership in which employees are included in decision-making that
motivates employees to perform their defined operations with proper efficiency and
effectiveness. If business need quality and efficient decisions than top management to take
proper decisions as well as communicate these decisions to employees so they can perform their
all roles and responsibilities in efficient manner. Welcon adopt the leadership and management
strategy in which leaders of organisation analyse the situation than tale decisions accordingly to
take better decisions and lead business towards growth and development.
Transformational and situational theory of leadership and management is used by the
organisation to take batter decisions to resolve the problem and improve business overall
efficiency and effectiveness (Chasma and Khonat, 2021). Transformational leadership helps
business to transform their nature and behaviour regarding changes as well as motivate them to
adopt these changes to attain business objectives. Whereas, situational leadership enables
organisation to take decisions as per the situation to gain higher efficiency and effectiveness.
Make practical recommendations to resolve the problem
There are various issues and problems are faced by the organisation regrading executing
structural changes in business with the objective of decreasing overall cost of organisation.
Welcon organisation do not have any alternative strategy for this situation that impact on
business efficiency and effectiveness. It is important for the business to adopt effective strategies
and policies that resolve business problems properly. Some recommendations are discussed
below:
It is suggested to Welcon to allocate all required resources at all level of business and
convent all business planning and strategies and other project related information to
employees that enhances their efficiency to perform defined operations with efficiency.
It is also essential fir business to allocate budget, authority as well as provide support and
guidance to employees so they can adopt changes and perform operations in well-defined
manner.

It is recommended to business to implement effective leadership and management style
according to business situation and conditions (Long, 2019). Organisation should take
decision after analysing business situation properly is staff members of organisation have
experienced, capable and skilled workforce than business need to adopt participative
approach and if expert opinion and accuracy is required in some cases than authoritative
leadership approach.
It is suggested to the organisation to develop effective and alternative policies and
strategies with the objective of implementing change in business properly regarding
organisational structure. It facilitates business through applying alternative policies if
current policy is not working in particular situation that help business to gain desirable
outcome (Podsakoff and Podsakoff, 2019). Organisation should allocate all roles and
responsibilities among employees so they can perform operations properly without
raising any conflict.
Welcon organisation should provide training and development opportunities to
employees that enable them to improve their capabilities, skills that enable them to
handle situations in efficient manner and adopt changes as well that are occurring in
business. Organisation should also provide promotional opportunities, extra benefits and
perks that inspire employees to attain the objective of higher work performance and
productivity.
Organisation need to adopt regular meeting as well as group conferences with the
objective of understand ideas and views and maintain effective communication with
employees that enable them to perform operations properly to attain determined goals and
objectives (Pihlainen, Kivinen and Lammintakanen, 2019). Organisation should evaluate
and monitor employee’s performance through used different KPI to identify weak areas
of employees than develop effective strategies with the objective of improving them so
they can perform defined operations with efficiency to attain business goals and
objectives.

From the above report, it can be concluded that the concept of management and leadership
