INTRODUCTION
Wellbeing can be defined as a condition of an individual or a group of people. positive
condition of a group of people or an individual helps in achieving higher level of wellbeing.
Wellbeing can also be defined as a state of being healthy, comfortable and happy (Michalos,
2017). Wellbeing of a person is measured in different ways on the basis of different dimensions.
Main dimensions of wellbeing are: material living status, health, education, personal activity,
political voice and governance, social relationship and governance, environment and insecurities.
Whereas Wellbeing is majorly measured in terms of personal wellbeing, relationship with others,
health, society in which individual lives, economy, natural environment and many more (Adler
and Seligman, 2016).
There are some major principles of wellbeing that helps in defining wellbeing of a group
of people or of an individual. First principle is to maximize inclusion and access i.e. education,
health and wellbeing service should be made accessible to all the individuals and groups and
should include all kinds of advantages and disadvantages. Second principle is to focus upon
outcome of Health, learning, development and wellbeing in order to deliver and enhance
education, wellbeing and health services (Le Grande and et. al., 2017). Third principle is to adopt
a holistic approach by developing a collaboration between multidisciplinary professional services
and practises in order to meet needs and requirements of individuals or group of people. fifth
principle is to focus upon person centred and family sensitive care so that people can live a
happy and sustained healthy lives. Another principle is to develop partnership with communities
and families in order to create a healthy environment and maintain good wellbeing of people.
Wellness of people is one of the most important factors which is required to be focused
upon by every nation. Each nation needs to focus upon enhancing wellness of their citizens as it
is considered as one of the developmental factors of a country (Staiger and et. al., 2017). For this
every year some global and national trends of wellbeing agenda are developed. With the help of
Global wellness submit some global wellness trends are set up. Other than this national
framework of UK also helps in setting some of the national trends of wellbeing. Some of the
main Global trends of wellbeing are: transformative wellness trend is one of the main and current
wellness trend. Wellness meets happiness is another current global wellbeing trend. But in UK
national trend of wellbeing is feminist wellbeing. This assignment will focus upon wellbeing of
people with mental health issues and will focus upon sociological issues associated with people

DISCUSSION
Wellbeing of people with mental health issues
Wellbeing is never related to physical health of an individual, in fact wellbeing includes
physical, mental and emotional health of an individual. All the three together helps in making an
individual or a group of people healthy and comes under the category of wellbeing. If an
individual is not well even if in one category such as mental wellbeing them that person does not
come under the category of wellbeing (Clapham, Foye and Christian, 2018). Having a good
mental health is one of the most important things which is required to be focused upon. In fact, it
is considered as an important aspect of being well. But people with mental health issues face lots
of sociological issues, this is majorly because mental health of an individual is considered to
contribute approximately 25 percent of an individual’s health. One of the main issues faced by
such people is in building and maintaining relationship with others including close family
members or friends. Such people also fail to take care of their physical health in a better and
appropriate manner. there many other sociological issues that are faced by such people with
mental health issues. First and foremost, most common sociological issue faced by such people is
civil rights, inequality and discrimination. Such kind of people are always segregated and
provided special treatment. Many times, such kind of people face inequality and discrimination
in terms of activities, work even in terms of accessing healthcare facilities.
Concepts of well- being agenda for people with mental health issues
Wellbeing is a positive outcome which is helpful for people and for the society as well. It
helps in integrating people’s mental health with their physical health. Wellbeing of people with
mental health issue has been provided to have specific concept especially in terms of
considerations of way it can be measured. There are many concepts of wellbeing for people with
mental health issues but two most important concepts of mental health issues for such people are:
social wellbeing and Physical wellbeing.
Social wellbeing always has a profound effect upon mental health and wellbeing of an
individual or a group of people (Tough, Siegrist and Fekete, 2017). Mental wellbeing of an
individual includes their capability to develop and maintain their relationship with others. People
with mental health issue does not have capability to tackle and handle themselves and their

relationship with others. They face difficulty in setting their boundaries and including themselves
with other people or within society in a proper manner. they fail to include themselves within the
society in a proper manner without people help. This is majorly because these people are not
capable enough it identifies their needs and requirements as well as set their boundaries. Facing
difficulty in maintaining social wellbeing can impact personal health, wellbeing if the individual
and can also impact their relationship with others. There are various measures of wellbeing that
can help in measuring wellness of an individual. Personal health, welling and relationship of
people are three major type of measurements that can help in measuring overall wellbeing of
people with mental health issues. In order to measure social wellbeing of individual who are
suffering from mental health their relationship with their close family members or friends is
measured, ways in which they relationship with others impact their overall health is also
measured. If wellbeing of mental health issue patients is required to be improved then in such
case it is important to enhance their social well being with the help of specific wellbeing
measures. There are many studies that have clearly shown that mental health of an individual and
their relationship with others is strongly related (Laidlaw, McLellan and Ozakinci, 2016). Many
times, this relationship also helps in reducing social inequality faced by people i.e. if relationship
of people mental health issues with others is positive and strong then their chances of facing any
kind of social inequality decreases and vice versa if their relationship with others is not goof then
it can impact their social wellbeing and their chances of facing social inequality increases.
Physical wellbeing of an individual is directly linked to their mental wellbeing. Many
times, people misjudge both the concepts of wellbeing. Personal wellbeing of the way that can
help in measuring mental health of an individual. Many researches in this area has clearly shown
that mental health issue suffered by an individual contributed in degrading physical wellbeing of
the individual. People with mental health issues are most probably to face or suffer from another
physical health issues and they are not capable enough to take care of their physical wellbeing in
a proper and appropriate manner. this is majorly because people with mental health issues are
less likely to receive physical healthcare facility and care which should be provided to them.
Degrading mental wellness of an individual directly impact their physical wellbeing. There are
three major factors that can help in meaning wellness of people with mental health issues. First is
physical health of such people. Level of physical health and wellbeing of an individual can help
in analysing wellbeing of such people (Tay and et. al., 2019). Financial and educational level of

an individual also helps in measuring the level till which people with mental health issues can
focus upon their wellbeing both physical and mental wellbeing. This is majorly because if mental
health issues people are educated in a proper manner with their current condition and ways in
which they can focus upon their health and in additional to this if their financial status is also
good then it can help them in enhancing their overall
mental and physical health.
Strategies and initiatives that seek to enhance wellbeing in relation to people with mental health
issues
Modern life keeps us busy but it would require to find ourselves ignoring the fundamentals
such as health, community, family and friends. Although it neglects the causes dysfunction in the
people lifestyle but it directly affecting on the mental health condition. in some situation, it
become complex to handle the current mental health condition or situation. So that it is important
to consider an effective strategies and initiative as prevention which can easily eradicating
depression and anxiety. In order to reduce the stress level because it directly effects on the
mental health condition of people.
Mental health promotion and prevention: it is important for implementing mental health
promotion while setting GP. It is not only reducing the illness but also save lives of people.
Ultimately, it is good thing to consider general practice workload and promoting the resilience in
term of mental health care (Brown, Gartner, and Carter, 2019). For Example- Depression is one
of the most common factors that already exists among people. There are 75% of lifelong mental
ill health which become manifest itself by young person reach at age of 20 years old.
Work with community to map risk factor: it is another important strategy that establish
coordination with community and also developing the association with clusters, local authorities
and other public health. It can map the local services such as social care which providing the
right path for reducing their mental health illness. It helps for evaluating the effects and supports
to control mental health condition.
Good healthcare, practices and medicine: it is to be consider as holistic strategy or
initiative that require to help for target achievement. It is also known as primary care which
required to use proactive biopsychosocial approach in the consultation to manage the mental as
well as physical disorder among people (Arango and et. al., 2018). Moreover. It is necessary to
use the proper counselling with care team to address many issues at same time.

issues. These strategies and initiatives can help in enhancing both physical and mental wellbeing
of such individuals which will eventually help such people in enhancing their overall social
wellbeing or their relationship with others as well.

From above discussion, it concluded that Wellbeing is considered as important process
which help for identifying the mental health condition of an individual or a group of people. it
also relates through different measurement on the basis of personal wellbeing, relationship with
others, health, society in which identifying the economy, natural environment. It has summarised
about the different global trends of wellbeing such as transformative wellness. In order to find
out the common current trend which always supports for improving the mental health condition
of people. As per analysis, it has identified that Wellness just meet happiness and also reducing
the stress level on regular basis. The report is mainly focused on adapting the holistic approach
for establishing collaboration between multidisciplinary professional services and practises in
order to meet needs of people. This documentation has mainly focused on the wellbeing of
people with mental health issues and also concerned about their sociological issues associated
