About the Park
The Wenderholm Regional Park was included in the network of regional parks in the year
1965. Along with the given land, an additional land of 34 hectares was purchased which is
commonly known as the Schischka Block. The park currently has 149 hectares of land and is
located in the coastal peninsula and is situated between the Waiwera and Puhoi rivers (Byrnes,
2014). The area is an elevated forest headland and salt marshes.
