Wendy McClelland
Wendy McClelland is a nominee for RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award for the
deloitte startup in 2015. People often call her as “lifelong entrepreneur.” She started her first
business when she was just 19 years. She worked there in a human resource department
where she observed horrible resumes that came in then she has established Future horizons
consulting and gave workshops to write good resumes and how to perform well in interviews.
In 1994, share divorced and has three children who were under tem years. Unluckily, she had
to face bacterial infection, which ate her portions of her spine, destroyed a kidney, and led to
brain damage. She was away from her children for a year and was in hospital in a full body
cast. She was declared bankrupt that was toughest times of her life. In 2014, she wrote book
“27 steps to freedom- what different learnings taught her about success in life and business.”
In her personal life, she raised a family, kept herself in college, and learned to permit success
in the life. Every challenge taught her powerful lesson and finally led her to own new
business paths (Cooper, and Folta, 2017).
She started her typing business, which grew in a company that provide web development and
other training sessions into the international market. As a web pioneer, she was even called to
speak to diverse an organisation as Southern Alberta Teacher federation and the chamber of
commerce.
Traits of Wendy McClelland
She has an executive leadership experience of more than 25 years. She has her forte in in
building business from training leader who is accountable, ethical, and effective. As a leader,
she maintains her relations strongly and her effective communication is the key to success.
While talking to her colleagues, she always emphasis communication, human resources,

personal empowerment, and business development. She is a customer and community centred
woman who even worked as a director of Scottsdale of networking group on a mission in
order to earn commission (VetsToGo, 2015). She was also on the board for girls rule
foundation. Her training, education and experience includes various positions especially,
executive director of a premium networking group, president of women`s enterprise
foundation, director of Girls rule foundation. She continued to American union for certified
coach of life, and certification of Kolbe management. She studied bachelor of independent
studies with focus on business, European and religious studies, get stuff done of leader
Award, and speaking appearances for communication, and business success (Structure for
success, 2018).
Some of the entrepreneurial theory, there are economic theory, sociological theory,
psychological theory, and Anthropological theory. As an entrepreneurial theory, Wendy
McClelland is the true epitome of economic and sociological theory. She has executed a lot
of business with a purpose to teach people and earn money. Therefore, as a part of social
work, Dr Wendy McClellend is an entrepreneur after 2009 when she experienced treating
doggie bones at her doorsteps. Mcclelland is a trained veterinarian who early got validation
that people want a different food chart of vet services (Structure for success, 2018).
McClelland is the owner and CMO (chief Medical officer) of Vets To Go, that is recognised
to employ nearly 31 people and also help pet owners in Edmonton and Calgary. It is seen that
sales have spiked for pet-owners of nearly 986% in just last five years. The company has
earned a spot as 2017, PROFIT 500 as its rank among Canada`s Fastest emerging and
growing companies (Referral key, 2019). Moreover, it is seen as fiercely loyal client in order
to deliver novel offering by adding complementary services by reversing the engineered
objects in order to fix specific pain points. In 2012, she was formally joined the company as a
president and partner, with a plan to expand. Wendy McClelland plans to serve as a director

of entrepreneurship and innovation who wishes to spend more on pet accessories rather than
doing for children toys and she suggests treating the pets as their family members (Learn
Insider from a Successful Entrepeneur, 2015). Currently, clients now days are more educated
and demanding in regards to provide in-house service offering on the basis of convenience as
this is the best way to fill the gap (Referral key, 2019). By using her huge experience, she
realised of success is because people come back to the organisation by distant places which
in-house vest service are not stressed much for their pets (Zahra, and George, 2017). This
main aim of the organisation is to offer food delivery that has specialised in providing quality
food and diets as prescribed by vets. This service is more famous among youth and senior
citizen. Apart from maintaining just a physical space but it has evolved from the concept of
pure service business so that it can distribute products as required by the physical spaces to
which it is required to serve (Learn Insider from a Successful Entrepeneur, 2015). The
company has featured the pharmacy and also operates a theatre for the processes so that
complicated work can be done in homes and offices in order to support the growing team. It
is important to maintain the same level of quality even during the expansion. She has left no
stone unturned to serve people while training people for resumes. Apart from this, she served
animals at her best especially for dogs. She has a number of 10000 people in order to improve
the business and their lives. She prepared medicine to treat dogs with the natural extraction
form fresh juices such as apples, kale, cucumber, and beetroot. This medicine is highly
nutritious and it contain a high level of fibre with no processed preservatives (Dees, 2017).
Competitive advantage
The company strived to experiment and test so that it can come up with tasty treats by
incorporating couple of healthy ingredients, which may be lived by dogs. As an entrepreneur,
this leader not only executes social practises but also earns money. It is eye-opener that
according to her testimonials, she has marked some of the dogs as her kids. Wendy

personally take care of their homes and one of them is an 18 years old cat parker who have
extended the period in spring and did a excellent job. Wendy loves animals. She looks after
eight years old retrieved from Ruby for many times (Czarnecka, 2017).
Recommendation
It is strongly recommended that Wendy should train pet owners that how the pet can feel
homely and relax as pet always look for a trustworthy pet sitter. Although, facing such
diseases and physical problems such as bacterial eating of spin and brain parts (Wendypager,
2015). It is very clear her tendency to become humble to even pets is very much viable. This
sensibility of conducting business can be very critical but she maintained it very well as her
organisation was recognised among in 2017, as top 500 PROFIT organisation of Canada.
Therefore, she has written success strategies in “27 steps to freedom.” It is recommended that
she should start popularising her business through social media tools so that the idea of
reaching to greater audience can be fulfilled (Wendy Loves Pets, 2018). Apart from only
serving to the pets and animals, she should also undertake some strategies to serve aboriginal
people of Canada. Wendy should engage in different workshops and act as a dynamic speaker
with a briefed shared information of wealth. it is highly recommended that everyone in the
organisation should familiarise with the actions taken place near and also take advantage of
the ever changing social media.
