INTRODUCTION
Project management is process of coordinating diverse range of people that have various
skills, capabilities and knowledge so that the objectives can be achieved in limited time frame.
The project manager is important individual that undertake all responsibilities to plan, organize
and direct the way particular project will be completed so that maximum outcome can be
enjoyed by company. Wesfarmers is one of the largest companies in retail industry of Australia
that has diverse business operation and products or services for satisfaction of needs of large
number of individual living in the society. The company has planned to start a new project of
website updation in order to delivered better services of customer's and enhance overall market
share of company. Therefore, this report has explained about necessary steps that are taken by
project manager in order to complete the project of website improvement for benefits of
enterprise.
Introduction to project plan
Project plan is a important document that contained complete detailed related to the way
project will be executed and controlled so that last objectives can be achieved. Thus, it
highlighted crucial detailed related to the way risk, resources will be manager and
communication will be followed for better outcome. Wesfarmers is public listed company having
number of operation and supermarket stores that consist of essentials products or services which
can satisfied daily needs of customer's in better manner. Furthermore, there are around 107000
employees that are working for the company so that various operations can be completed in
limited time frame and cost (Frijns, Van Leeuwen and Bierwolf, 2017). The company have chain
of 378 trading in different location with products like outdoor living, home improvement and
other that are provided in order to satisfied wants of customer's. The company is planning to start
a project of development or updation of website so that more ease and comfort can be provided
to people so that they are motivated to be part of organization.

Work breakdown structure
The work breakdown structure has been created with integration of different aspects of
project such as resources, stakeholders, time and better communication between several
individual for achievement of last objectives. Therefore, the manager has followed seven process
for successful project integration management such as:

Project charter: It is document that clearly specific about the objectives of project, the way it
will proceed and respective stakeholders. The main objectives of website development is “ to
provide qualitative experienced to customer's by providing various facilities in the update
website.” The main stakeholders of company will be investors, customer's, employees and
management as they are more interested and affected by the project (Evdokimov, Domantsevich
and Konyhov, 2017).
Project management plan: The manager of Wesfarmers has prepared project management plan
in order to plan in advance about key activities that needs to be completed. It has specified the
way it will meet project stakeholders needs, time frame within which they need to complete for
better outcome.
Direct and manage project work: Wesfarmers project manager has clearly specified about
particular roles and responsibilities need to be completed by individual. On the basis of project
needs and capabilities of person it has delegate task need to be performed by specific team
member that results better management of project work. Furthermore, it has guide and direct
member about the way task can be completed related to development of websites for effective
project implementation (Koke and Moehler, 2019).
Manage project knowledge: In order to manage and retained crucial information related to the
project manager will make use of information technology. The technology has helped manager in
collecting, analysis and retaining information related to the project thereby will lead in more
outcome from the project.
Monitor and control project work: Project manager has continuously put its best efforts and
time to monitor each activity and function performed by individual. Thus , it has helped manager

easily get information and take correct decision to make purchase. So, it will be responsibilities

Requirements analysis: It is team member that is mainly responsible for analysis of

approach that helps in planning, improvement, team collaboration. Moreover, Agile is the
effective and most the simplest process that contribute in turning vision of business into software
solutions. So, it can be stated that this methodology is mainly used for software development as
in it both demand and solution are used through collaborative efforts so that needs of customer's
can be fulfilled.
Agile methodology is more effective as it can easily response to the changing business
needs by valuing principle of flexibility and adaptability. It focused on making teams that can
easily delivered working increment so that project can be implemented in more better manner
and yield maximum benefits. Furthermore, this methodology main purpose is to provide iterative
and incremental approach for software design (Bergmann and Karwowski, 2018). Thus
customer's have more opportunities to easily look into information related to products and
services in which company deals thereby take necessary decision to make purchase for
satisfaction of their respective requirements.
The software developed or new website developed will be demonstrated to people in
order to understand and estimate whether it is able to provide them better satisfaction or not. It
will help manager of Wesfarmers in testing the website that lead in attracting and inducing
potential customers in the firm.
Moreover, the project manager has decided to make use of different digital tools in order
to effectively design the website and delivered better services to large number of individual
living in society. Such as relay that is one of the digital tool software that is used by manager of
Wesfarmers in order to design or update the website. It is tool that helps in quick remix and
resize of brand assets with respect of colour, font and picture. Canva is another tool that is used
by manager for making graphics for website so that more number of customer's can be attracted
in the firm (Blomquist, Farashah and Thomas, 2018). The project manager of Wesfarmers has

creating beautiful websites in minutes. Company can easily add number of image of products
and services with their detailed in order to inform customer's about the same so that they can take
right decision.

CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that project management is important process
undertaken by manager to enhance brand image and market share of firm. Wesfarmers has
planned to start a project of development of websites so that more ease and conveniences can be
provided to people in online purchasing. The project management is essentials as it helps in
making the best use of available resources, effective implementation of project plan and
achievement of end outcome. Manager through effectively managing the project is able to
identified associated risk, find method or strategy to mitigate them so that Wesfarmers can grow
and expand its business operations in retail industry of Australia. Therefore, at last it can be
summarized that the software or digital tool has helped in effectively management of project
through successful completion.
