The service required by Western Mining from Pacific IT includes support plans for
Break / Fix with Corporate Premium on site Support involving response time of two (2)
hours. The existing faults of Western Mining network is observed to lie in both old and new
segments. From packet tracer it is observed that wrong cables have been used as also wrong
configuration of routers. As a fix serial cables are used router1 and router2 to connect with
another as well as in connecting router1 with edge router (Shihab and Mohammed 2017).
Also, the newly added computer in the new segment of the network is connected with
crossover LAN cable (Schulz et al. 2016). The expenses for replacing these cables are to be

communications are possible amongst them. From the diagnosis performed above it is found
that communications though possible among direct connections between router1 to router2
only, any message from edge router to router2 or the opposite way is resulting in failures for
not being connected directly.

and improper configuration of routers. For rectifying faults, following changes must be made.

The sending and receiving of ping messages between PC1 and PC2 prove PC2 is able
to communicate with PC1 and hence all of the new segment of the network.
