INTRODUCTION
Human resource management is an approach which helps to manage the employees
performance and mark their companies business and organisation with different strategical
approach. It mainly concerns with the management of teams and employees by providing them
various trainings, appraisal, rewards and motivation(Ahmed, and Khammari 2018). This mainly
have an approach towards the organisational practise and its collective bargaining in all the
managerial laws , the main agenda of human resource management in the organisation is to get
success and raise maximum capital in the organization with the help of people as they tries to
work in all the areas which are in context usually creates a work balance and growth in the
organisation by various strategies. In this report a case scenario is discussed in which the issues
faced by the employees will be identified and all the working problems faced by them will be
framed.
MAIN BODY
Case Scenario
In this case scenario, Westonwich District council (WDC) is a company which gives
local government services to rural areas and also covers various plans for tourism, tax collection,
planning, recycling and many more and for that they had appointed a HR team of four people to
manage a staff of 250 people in which some works on part time basis(Albarran and et. al., 2018).
WDC manages a part time recruitment for their team and they makes substantial saving in their
due course for varies business but as through certain time their financial situations were not up to
the mark so the HR manager is being asked to make a questionnaire so as to survey the staff
about the problems and their level of satisfaction by evaluating the questionnaire their are few
findings which are to be identified.
Why the findings are issues and area of concern for Westonwich District council WDC.
As a confidential questionnaire from 250 employees has been made by the HR managers
their it is considered that employees has certain problems in regard to their work and that need to
be figured out for a proper growth of the company: No proper pay benefit- It is surveyed that most of the employees are not merely satisfied
by the work an the pay scale given to the employees as with the increase in the needs

every person as their own expenses for which they are working hard and in case where
employees will not get a proper pay for their work that will make them demotivated and
they will loose interest in their work as well so this is an important issue of concern for
the organisation as that will make the employees switch towards other areas. Stress at work- This is a major issue in Westonwich District council as it is most
important for all the organisation that they should make their employees motivated at the
workers and employees should enjoy their work and feel no stress as if they work in
stress they will automatically loose interest in their work that that will effect the
organisation and also the growth of the company(Bogers and et. al., 2018). As if an
employee feels stress while working they will not be able to show their capabilities in all
the sectors and that will effect bthe productivity of the company. No proper Training and Development- For establishing a good organisation it is
important that an organisation should give their employees a proper training about their
working sector so their may not be any confusion in the work as the employees when join
the organisation they have to be properly trained so their may not arise any confusion and
make them productive towards their work. Increased workload- As the organisations tries to expand their work in various sectors it
is important for them to manage all the team work and their proper an analyses regarding
working conditions but in Westonwich District council the employees were facing an
increased work load in all the sectors and that is the main issue as if any person is not
working in a relax mode and is confused regarding the working of the organisation and
with that if an employee work in a immense pressure that will degrade their working
performance and will also effect the organisation(Groeneveld and et. al., 2017).So, the
organisation should not give their employees extra workload and if there is a peak load
they should motivate them and create a healthy environment. Improper Management- The company was facing the main issue of improper
management as the employees in their survey explained that their should be a proper
management by the teams so that their may not be any confusion i8n the working and that
may lead them to work in a proper scenario(Ivanov, Tsipoulanidis, and Schönberger,
2017). As the company was not having a proper staff they were not able to coordinate

their employees regarding their working performance or change in the behaviour which
effects the growth of the company. Listened while Working- An organisation should try to impulse all the employers by
listening top their problems and also to their advices as for running a good organisation it
is important that every staff member should be treated equally and their may be made a
healthy environment in the working zone so it vis important that all the team members
and the staff should be allowed to give their feedbacks and also their problems and make
them to built confident by listening their issues(Jacoby, S 2018).
Recognized Efforts- This is also comes to one of the major issue as all the employees are
when working for the organisation they are giving their best to make that company better
for future but at instance it also implies that some of them actually tries to do more hard
work in their working for the company by their great performance or by giving some
useful ideas and for that employees should be appreciated for their work and their efforts
should be recognised by the company by mentioning the hard-working of that
person(Marks, 2019). And when a employees after giving their best in that sector still
left unrecognised that will led them to loose their confidence and morale and for the next
time they will not work with that same efforts as before.
Identification and Justification of key issues
By the feedback of the employees it has been identified that there are two main issues
which are to be noticed and changed for proper organisational growth they are mentioned below:
Stress at work- The employees and the questionnaire has raised the main issue which is they
feel stress in their job and they are stressed by the over workload of the company. Stress variably
means that all the anxiety and mental health which occurs to the person and make them
depressed in their working zone. This might lead to make the employees to be unhealthy and
they loose their confidence in various zones basically stress is an alternative way of depression
and as employees working in certain areas faces this a lot by an immense pressure in the working
sector and also the usual over work load makes them loose there morale and confident(Moutinho
and et. al., 2018). In Westonwich District council the employees has a main problem of
increased stress in the working zone as due to lower staff all the work load goes on the
employees and the company is not hiring any new employees which increase the pressure on the
Document Page
employees as they have to do all the extra work for the organisation and there is no team
management by the organisation and with that it also have no rewards and appreciation by
companies to their employees as the rewards keep everyone motivated. As this is the main issue
as stress at work place is not a good sign for an organisation and the company employees when
having extra pressure as due to lack of staff without any motivation and companies improper
training then that may lead them to not work well(Obeidat and et. al., 2017). So by this mean
time it is explained that employees are not satisfied by the working of the company or their way
in which it frames its organisation and stressful conditions, over burdened jobs, no team work,
lack of motivation may make the conditions stressful for the employees in Westonwich District
council and serious measures should be taken in order to make the work easy and quick for
certain conditions and to give healthy environment to the employees.
Training and Development- In the survey by the Westonwich District council it has been seen
that training and development is also an important issue in the employees feedback. Training
implies the instructions and the guidelines being provided by the mentors or the managers to
their employee about their working conditions it is being done for the benefit of the organisation
and the growth of the employee in context of company so the managers tries to train their
employees in a proper manner for its usual course of working it covers all the plans, strategies,
approaches, skills being made by the company in order to grow enormously in the market. In this
Westonwich District council it has been the main issue as the employees are not being properly
trained and there is no regular training session of the team which results in lack of knowledge
and their poor performance it is important that all the person should get a proper introductory
idea and ways in which they may work and it also covers that the ,managers may lead to have a
proper training sessions most of the demotivation of the employees came from the no knowledge
of their working area as it is important that all the employees should get proper direction about
the working of the company as that will increase the confidence and also embarks there growth
and motivation in the company(Williams, and Hunn, 2019). So, as due to improper
management and training due to less staff and not having proper experience this may lead to
have an on going skilled working in a lack of knowledge and developing areas. The organisation
to gain the productivity may tries to implement the zone and ways through which their
employees will be trained as that will remove their stress in working if they know the way in
Document Page
which the development is to be made and this also the key issue for all the organisation. Through
by then the employees can help the foundations of the company and make it to grow better by
proper training sessions.
Recommendations and Justification
By identifying the issues discussed above it is observed that Westonwich District council should
try to give more emphasis on training and development of the employees and also should not
make their job stressful as the employees feel more stress at their working area.
As for all the jobs and working sections it is important that the employees should
be provided a proper training for all the departments as the company is having
low staff and they are not able to guide their employees about the working pattern
and the targets, goals of the organisation. So, the HR and their team may start a
session for the employees in which they will be properly guided about the team
management, companies vision, motivation etc. They may also motivate their
employees for working without stress and motivate them about getting more
incentives and rewards if doing their work properly. The company can also hire a
person for further training sessions or the experienced managers can train the new
comers and make them feel comfortable and confident about their workWebb,
2017).Training is a important session for the development of the company and all
the employees should be given a proper knowledge about the vision of the
company this motivates the employees and make their vision clear about the
working zone. Even all the old staff should also be given a training session in a
specific interval of time as that makes it easy for the members to recall the new
requirements and should also tries to know about their ideas of working and their
vision regarding increasing the profit of company.
For addressing the issue of work stress and job stress it is recommended that all
the employees should be made to work freely without any problems and that the
managers should tries to motivate their employee with various rewards and
incentives for their works. As it is being important for all the employees that they
may attain more profit and that can only be possible if the staff is feeling
confident and happy with their work so they may not be given that overload work

stress to the employees and their may be provided. Sometimes the stress is being
made of the employees are unaware about the job roles so the managers and the
team should make them easily understandable about the working even in the
pandemic when certain employees are trying to work from home and as due to
low staff that creates a burden on the team and the employees are working without
any incentive that creates them to work without any motivation and make it quiet
stressful so the company may in a way tries to motivate there employees by
giving rewards and appreciation to them for their work and can also help them by
guiding towards the growth of them in the company(Yang and et. al., 2018). Thus,
employees should be properly trained and motivated towards their goals and make
company should try to keep a healthy and friendly environment in the working
area. The workload should be given easy with a better rewards and appreciation
and the employees may get a proper time interval after that working zone as stress
to the employees will effect the companies growth so it is important that
employees may work stress free without any pressure and get a healthy
environment.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that Human resource management is an important
field for the employees as that helps in the working of the employees and manages all the staff
with their work, goals, targets and team spirits they play a major role in all the sectors and which
is quiet important in all the organisation. Every company should try to give their employees a
healthy environment and their should be given a proper management to the team and their staff
members. Westonwich District councils employees has raised two major issues which are stress
at workplace and lack of training and development sessions so the recommendations for them are
they should make their staff to give proper training to the employees by guiding them about the
aims and objectives and should make the stress free environment by giving them less work load
and introduce rewards and appreciation for good work.
