Westpac banking corporation is usually known as Westpac. It is an Australian bank that has its
headquarters in Westpac Place, Sydney. The company operates in the banking industry and also
provided financial services. Westpac is one of the largest banks in Australia. The bank was found
in 1917. Westpac banking corporation is a public bank. The business operates on a large scale as
it generates revenues nearly about A$ 22 billion. Talking about the net income of the business, in
the year 2018, the company earned A$ 8.095 billion. The company operates on a large scale, and
for operating at such a huge level, the company has huge resources and assets. The total assets of
the business as calculated in the year 2018 are A$ 879.592 billion. The company currently
employs 35029 employees, and this is a huge number for a banking corporation. All the
employees are competent and skilled to provide high-end services to the customers. As the
revenues of the business are large, it is clear that the bank operates in a widely spread
geographical area. Westpac has operations all over the world (Westpac Banking Corporation,
2019). It has a total of 1204 branches all over the world. Westpac has 3222 ATMs all over the
world. The bank is said to be the most sustainable bank by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
The major products and services offered by the bank include Financing and insurance, consumer
banking, investment banking, mortgages, corporate banking, management of global wealth and
credit cards. The bank has five key divisions in which it operates. The key five divisions are
consumer bank, BT Financial Group, Westpac Institutional Bank, Commercial and business bank
and the Westpac New Zealand. The company provides all its products and services through all
these divisions.
