Operations Manager of the entity. The three main moral conflicts Chnatale must consider are
stated as follow. The first is that the said whistleblowing is beneficial in public interest or not
(Bok, 1950). The medical waste though minor in quantity is still leading to environmental
damages just to save a few dollars. The second set of the moral conflicts that must be
addressed are the loyalty issues (Bok, 1950). The employees of the companies are generally
bound by the confidentiality agreements. As an employee of the company, though she has a
professional loyalty towards the company but the loyalty towards the public and nation is
much greater. The last moral conflict is in the form of the personal conflict. This is
characterized by individual fears of loss of job, threats and likewise.
As seen in the case study, Chantale is already facing dissent from immediate superior
and Operations Manager. Further, she might also face the similar attitude from the colleagues
as well, in context of breaching the professional loyalty. However, the larger area of focus
must be duty towards the nation and public wellbeing. In order to make the whistleblowing
effective, she should obtain a legal consultation in order to fix an immediate responsibility of
the act, for the whistleblowing to be more effective. Further, the said step must be taken in
way that it catches the attention of the audience at large, to garner the public confidence. This
way she would not feel the pressure of the individual conflicts of threats from the company,
loss of job and negative publicity.
