Introduction
In the given study, research has been conducted on the “Whitbread PLC
Company”. The aims and objectives of the company will be discussed. A project
management plan will be produced inclusive of factors such as, scope, cost, time,
communication, risk, resources and quality. Work break down structure as well as a
Gantt chart will be produced to present the timeframe and stages of the project’s
completion.
Whitbread PLC is a public limited company, based at London and was found in the
year 1742 by Samuel Whitbread. It has headquartered in Houghton Regis, England,
UK. Richard Baker is the chairperson of the company, and Alison Brittain is the CEO
(whitbread.co.uk, 2018). This is a leisure and hospitality industry. The origin of the
company is in brewing.
The host country where this company is operating is the United Kingdom. The
country is also called as Great Britain. The Gross Domestic Product or GDP rate of
the country is higher than many other developed countries. This country has a high-
income economy as well as quite a high rating in Human Development Index
(telegraph.co.uk, 2019). The United Kingdom is one of the first industrialised
countries in the world.

Project refers to the collaborative task, which involves design and research in order
to gain a specific aim. Project management refers to the way, by which the
researchers manages and organises the resources in order to complete a project.

Aim
The aim of the project is to recognise and examine the effects of the Whitbread PLC
upon the society, environment, and economy of the United Kingdom.
Objectives
 To recognises the effect of Whitbread PLC on the economy of the United
Kingdom
 To measure the influence of Whitbread PLC on the environment of the
country
 To evaluate the impact of Whitbread PLC on the society of the country
 To propose a suggestion as well as recommendation for the future
development of the business in the United Kingdom
Produce a project management plan that covers aspects of cost, scope, time,
quality, communication, risk and resources
Scope
There are two types of scope:
Included Scope: The research will mainly focus on the primary research to gather
vital and important information.
Excluded Scope: The secondary research has been ignored in this research in
collecting the information or data.
Organisational Structure
In this research project, the functional organisational structure has been
implemented because; the entire project will be carried out according to the
functions. The Structure can help the organisation to gain the preferable outcome in
actual time. In this structure, the members of the research project are divided in
specialised group to collect the correct and reliable information in time (Winnubst,
2017).

Conclusion
It can be concluded that the organisational structure that is appropriate for this
project is a functional project structure. The problems and risks of the project can be
solved by applying some strategies. The Gantt chart and work breakdown structure
have been presented to give information about the stages and time frame in
completing the project.
