Audit Report
Having done the evaluation, the results show that Jobin Hopkins meets most of the requirements
for the OHSMS Australian Standard 4801; they have a policy signed and supported by the CEO.
However, despite meeting most requirements, there are areas where improvements are required,
such as in planning where legal information is not effectively communicated to employees.
Improvements needed in the communication of objectives and targets, record keeping, as well as
accountability areas.
Reporting of the OHSMs is an area that needs a lot of improvement by the organization;
reporting on incidents and system failures, hazard identification, and risk assessment has not
been done well and needs to be improved.
In risk control, improvements are due in using elimination as the first measure of control to be
considered for risks and hazards

Employee access to their individual health results needs improvement as there is opacity in the
whole process at the moment
The management also needs to improve its reviews of the OHSMS system at the institution
In all, there is full compliance in more than three quarters of the OHSMS Australian Standard
4801
In the WHS workplace inspection, there are slippery floors
Part C: Induction Program with Checklists
The induction process for the new employee began by the employee being sensitized on what the
WHS is and why Jobin Hopkins has one. The employee was then taken through all components
of the Jobin Hopkins WHS that covered the risks and hazards I their respective workplace,
special equipment used at the workplace, safe working practices, procedures for emergencies,
and legislation on the WHS. The emergency procedures included the employee being made
aware of instructions for evacuations and points of assembly, emergency exits, equipment for
firefighting and fire alarms and the contacts for first aid and other emergencies. A checklist was
used to ensure the induction is exhaustive. The checklist included an explanation of what Jobin
Hopkins does including the organization structure and their job as well as key persons and the
roles they play in the organization and the employment conditions at the organization. The Jobin
Hopkins WHS administration was explained to the employee, including communication
processes and consultation. The employee was also shown the WHS environment and procedures
for safe work, their pay, and the security at the organization, the general work environment
including car parking, and finally, a follow review was undertaken. The induction checklist had
a section for acknowledging the induction.
