INTRODUCTION
Workplace health and safety refers to the field that is related with protecting the health
and safety of all the people that are working at the workplace in the organization from
vulnerability to risks and hazards from various types of work activities (Furci and Sunindijo,
2018). These procedures are important because it helps to minimize the illness and injuries of
workers. The Report is based on Stream Design Pty Ltd. That offers multi media solutions. The
Report will outline relevant acts, regulations of WHS, identification of hazards in the
organization, hierarchy of control,communication in company, need of training etc.
MAIN BODY
Identification of relevant WHS acts, regulations.
Workplace health and Safety Act offers the framework to protect welfare, health and
safety of all the employee’s that are working in organization. All the workers are protected by
WHS Act. Regulations of the Act provides standards that are required to meet for particular risks
and hazards like manual handling, machinery etc. WHS has provided practical guide for
attaining the standards of welfare and health under WHS Act 2011 (Harvey and et.al, 2019).
Hazard identification in organization.
The term hazard identification and analysis of risk involves all the activities that helps to
identify and evaluate risk throughout their life cycle. Stream Design Pty Ltd is required to follow
different steps for identifying risk. Company will have to put together team for risk assessment,
identification of hazards, record keeping, risk assessment, implementation and review of risk.
Risk management matrix- It is used while assessing the risk to evaluate the level of risk by
considering various categories of their occurrence against category of consequence severity.
Hierarchy of control.
It refers to the method that is used by firms to reduce the vulnerability to hazards. It is
widely used system that is promoted by numerous safety companies. To apply hierarchy of
control in Stream Design Pty Ltd, company will have to eliminate the reasons behind danger
completely. It also includes substitution that means replacing the hazard with less danger way to
attain same results.
Communication in the company to manage WHS.
There are various ways of communication that will help Stream Design Pty Ltd to
manage the measures and controls of WHS to reduce hazards. Firm can communicate with the

help of notice boards, maintaining registers, hazards report forms, company newsletter, through
meetings with HSR's or HSC's. There must be two way communication for managing WHS such
as listen to the concerns of employee’s, talk with employee’s regarding WHS matters, provide
advise to workers of the result in timely manner.
Role, responsibility and duty of WHS committees.
There are various role and responsibilities of committees of Workforce Health and
Safety. It is responsible for safety and health of all the employee’s that are working in the
organisation. One of the major role is to address and solve the issues related with safety and
health of workers of the organisation. Important function is supporting cooperation between
employee’s and employer (Nossar and et.al, 2015).
Training need and coaching for all staff.
Training for all the workers is required because it will help them to understand the
concepts of occupational health and safety, achieving duty of care for all staff members. Trainer
will provide training to staff of Stream Design Pty Ltd. Related with first aid, safety
representative training, forklift driver training, safety committee training etc. Various activities,
processes will be followed to provide training to staff members.
Reporting and taking actions.
While any employee of Stream Design Pty Ltd. Is experiencing any type of hazard
related with health and safety, as per the legislation worker has the right to report the hazard to
their ultimate supervisor. After this, complete procedure will be followed for taking action
without wasting time. Necessary tools should be provided for health and safety of employee’s
(Stolzer, 2017).
Incident reporting documents.
Incident report related with a particular hazard involves various types of information such
as date, time, location of the incident, circumstances of the incident, witnesses and resident etc.
Safety audit will be conducted and management will strive to continuously improve safety
through inspection, investigation etc.
Safety Management Systems.
It can be defined as the method for managing the safety of the people that are working in
the organisation. It involves accountability, organisation culture, procedures and policies etc. It is

From the above Report it has been concluded that Workplace Health and Safety Act helps
to protect welfare of all the workers that are working in organisation. There are various types of
training that can be provided to employee’s for maintaining health and safety.
