Report part A
Fire in the work places is an example of the hazard of choice.
Fire is a physical hazard that has proved to be very dangerous and deadly, it could sweep
a significant number people if there are no effective measures taken into the place. Among the
factors that contribute to occurrence of fires is ignorance and failure in electricity systems,
heating equipment, smoking and arson. There is therefore a great need to conduct research in the
areas of fire occurrence and if possible provide a plan that could be used to train the work group.
It is imperative that a training be conducted to just help the work group remain alert and vigilant
and that in case there is a fire outbreak, it will be very easy for them to evacuate and escape the
danger that is brought about by the unawares of the fire.
Important stakeholders will need to have various requirements in place that must be taken
into consideration in the process of managing risks (Polivka et al., 2015). There are present laws
that ensure that individuals meet a minimum standard of care to ensure that activities that causes
harm or loss to other individuals are avoided or controlled. Legislative and regulatory
requirement of fire regarding training procedures include legislation dealing with emergencies
and disasters, occupational health and safety, the environment, equal employment opportunities,
privacy. There will also the need to consult the local government requirement regarding fires
outbreak; for example, land use, business permits, safety standards, operating procedures,
emergencies procedures and management procedures.
Legislation and organizational policies and procedures that could apply to fire outbreaks
demands that all work groups, contractors, suppliers and their associated individuals to the
organization knowledge the regulatory and requirements of the organization and to function

injury or death; thus, a legal action could be taken following the incident. The organization
should be in constant support of the employees who are in control of the fire alarm. In case of
any concerns regarding the fire procedures, the responsible staff will be always available to
provide the required regular training for example organizing drills so that organization can
perform an investigation and take appropriate action from the place of safety after operation of
the system of fire alarm (Spellman, 2017).
Some of the legislation that will be applied in the fire hazards is the Dangerous substance
and explosive atmosphere regulations 2002 which requires all the employees to perform an
assessment of the risk of fire and explosions that would probably arise from the activities of
work involved in dangerous substances and to consequentially eliminate, control or even reduce
the risks. The work and safety act (WHS) is also critical legislation that was developed by the
common wealth, territory governments and states through creation of regulations regarding
workers, their duties in the work place, the risk management and the means of response in case
an incident happens or occurs (Schroll, 2016).
