WHS Management System
Australian hardware has had the opportunity to expand nationally at very fast rate and the
evidence can be seen with the 138 warehouses situated at every corner of the country. There
have been many results experienced due to the expansion of Australian hardware but the
negative results have stood up over the rest (Assis, M.C et al. 2017, pp.2445-2460).
The target market for the business consists of three segments which include home
improvers, DYIs and tradespersons. Australian hardware aims to be the leading hardware and
home improvement market in Australia (Bailey et al., 2015, p.26). The strategic direction that
Australian hardware aims to follow consists of increasing sales revenue and gross profit,
maintaining its market share, and maintaining superior product and service quality standards.
The management will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment and providing
adequate resources for employees to meet health and safety management system targets
(Khamphanchai, et al. 2015 pp.1208-1218). The employees will be responsible for taking care of
their own health and safety of their fellow colleagues. The approval authority for purchasing lies
with CEO, CFO and the management board.

Amended adaptations and amendments
The WHS system features will include a consistent commitment from the top
management which should be made public, a planned approach to health and safety, a range of
programmed activities such as training, and a management review of the system to ensure that
effective implementation and correction of the system (Donato, Lohrasbi, pp. 129, 2017).
A hazardous manual task policy will be included which will focus on tasks that require a
person to lift, pull, lower, or carry and the policy will aim to provide for equipment designed and
maintained well and which will aid in providing safety to employees when manually handling
heavy materials.
Roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities
Personal and protective clothing and equipment policy will be included and the top
management will be responsible for the provision of necessary safety equipment for the
employees. The employees will be accountable for the safety equipment that will be handed to
them.
Human resources that will be required will include supervisors who will ensure that the
proposed policies and procedures are implemented and that the employees are following safety
guidelines as they carry out their jobs. Financial resource will be the cost for hiring a room upon
which employees will be trained (Yu, Johnstone, Cook, pp.425, 2018)

equipment provided and undergoing training on safety (Francis, Procter, Robinson, pp.42, 2017).
