This document presents a practical group debate focusing on whether tour operators should continue operating holidays in wildlife areas. The debate highlights the importance of tourism as a major global industry and its potential impact on wildlife, which faces threats like climate change and habitat loss. The argument in favor emphasizes the role of technology, such as tracking tags, drones, and AI, in protecting endangered species and enabling effective resource distribution for conservation efforts. It also underscores the significance of investing in research and development to create self-sustaining ecosystems and protect intellectual property rights related to wildlife. The debate concludes that a thorough analysis of external environmental factors is crucial for the success of wildlife conservation in the face of constant change.

Debate topic: Argues for tour operators to continue to operate holidays in wildlife areas
Tourism is regarded to be one of the world's major industries, and its contribution has expanded
dramatically in recent years (Oduor, 2020) . The influence on wildlife tourism will have a direct
impact on tourist growth, as wildlife tourism is expected to rise quickly in the next years. It can
also be noted that wildlife is endangered as a result of a variety of factors such as climate change,
changing nature of wild habitats, illegal wildlife trade, and so on.
Diverse wildlife is regarded as an important component of an ecosystem and a sign of a
healthy environment (Edmonds, 2021). Humans rely on ecosystems for a variety of necessities,
including seafood, animals, animal food, fuel, forest products, and medicinal goods. It also
provides a variety of human services, including medications, air, and water purification, drought
and flood mitigation, and so on.
According to Stephanie O'Donnell, tracking tags, drones, camera traps, sensors, and
remote sensors are among the technologies that are utilized to safeguard animals. On the other
hand, several technologies are being used, such as biologger tags, network sensors,
environmental DNA, and so on (Moorman, Grodsky and Rupp, 2019).
According to a survey published in Conservation Biology, there are approximately 248
conservationists and technologists in 37 countries that are now working on instruments to protect
species. Furthermore, according to a study conducted by Arm and Microsoft, artificial
intelligence, environmental DNA, and networked sensors all aid in the protection of animals.
(What is 'Conservation technology? How tech solutions can protect the world's wildlife).
Technology plays a critical part in preventing the extinction of species by providing innovation
to businesses, such as artificial intelligence and DNA sequencing. Technology allows for the
collection, analysis, and exchange of data on wildlife, unlawful hunting, and conservation,
resulting in more effective resource distribution. It also monitors both wildlife movements and
criminal actions by authorizing authorized management and delivering flawless tracking
technology (Ramos, 2018).

In addition to this, proper investment done in the research and development sector allows having
a good chance of creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that raises innovation. Also, wildlife
should focus on the environment for intellectual property rights before entering a new market
(Williams and Beam, 2019).
That is why from the above information it can be concluded that tour operators to continue
to operate holidays in wildlife areas. As the success of the wildlife can be greatly influenced by
the various factors of the external environment as the external factors are always changing.
Therefore, it is a must to analyze such trends and factors (Chen, 2021).
