AI Summary
This essay provides a comparative analysis of Windows and Mac operating systems, exploring their similarities and differences. It begins with an introduction to both systems, highlighting their distinct operational schemes and target users. The essay then delves into the commonalities, such as the ability to use similar peripheral devices and share data files. Subsequently, it examines the key differences, including the cost, application availability, and primary use cases (business vs. multimedia). The discussion also touches upon troubleshooting efficiency and the companies that develop each OS. The essay concludes by summarizing the findings, emphasizing the varying strengths of each system and their suitability for different needs. The provided references support the arguments presented, offering additional resources for further study in the field of computer systems and operating systems.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to explore the similarities and difference between the
Windows and Mac computer systems.
Introduction
Mac and windows both are two dissimilar systems that run on the various operating
schemes. A mac system runs on a Unix-based working scheme which is mainly
implemented by Apple Company and Windows-based computer systems run on the
numerous working schemes including Microsoft, XP, and Vista and so on (Ligh, Case, Levy,
& Walters, 2014). This study focuses on the similarity and differences between the
Windows and Mac and also examines their uses in the computer systems.
Similarities between Windows and Mac
It is observed that both Windows and Mac are used in the computer systems and
devices for performing various activities. Moreover, both mac and windows can stake the
same scanners, and other peripheral devices. The mac can read most PC formatted DVDs
and CDs and both can be used for communicating with the users by using messaging
services. There are many versions of windows players that work on the Mac systems
including media player, real player and quick time player (Kakar, 2015).
Differences between windows and mac
It is observed that macs are mainly designed for graphics and multimedia services
including picture editing but windows systems are mainly used for most office works. As
compared with the mac, windows computer systems are less expensive and more reliable
due to which it can be used in the companies (Difference Between, 2018). Macs computer
systems have more applications as compared with the windows systems. A recent study
identified that windows computer systems are bit older which cannot track the latest
computing software but in the case of mac users may run a high level of computer software.

In terms of troubleshooting, the mac computer system is more simple and effective
rather than windows systems. It is identified that if a selected application running in macs
produce any issue then it can be easily detected and resolved but in the case of Windows
PCs users may suffer from the delay. The other difference between the windows and mac is
that mac computer systems are mainly developed by Apple but windows systems are
mostly designed by Microsoft (The Economic Times, 2015). Windows computer devices are
generally, used for the businesses while macs PCs are utilized for the multimedia and
graphics related processes.
Conclusion
From the above investigation, it is concluded that both computer schemes are fluent
in the common data files counting text, PDFs and JPEGs but in terms of cost, macs are more
expensive rather than Windows PCs. This research critically evaluated the similarities and
differences between the windows and mac and also identified key aspects of both
computer systems. With the help of this study, the fundamental concepts behind windows
and macs can be understood and the students can enhance their skills in the area of
computer systems.
