Project
AI Summary
This project report details the comprehensive plan for installing and managing a Windows Server 2012 infrastructure for a company with multiple locations. It addresses the need for a centralized system to manage users, share files, and enhance security, replacing vulnerable methods like pen drives and email. The project outlines preferred installation choices, including the use of GUI for ease of use and the .NET framework. It covers the understanding of installation scale, data migration, and backup requirements, along with recovery strategies and necessary resources such as physical servers, virtualization software, and sufficient RAM. Furthermore, the project emphasizes the importance of user training on network usage and group policy management. The demonstration part includes advising the client on system downtime, providing a detailed communication plan to minimize disruption. The report also includes a bibliography of relevant sources.

1INSTALL AND MANAGE A SERVER
Part A: Development of in-detailed plan for installation
Understanding the deployed environment:
The business as the necessity to implement the infrastructure of windows network for
advertising the company situated from a couple of distinct location. A suitable solution is to be
chosen to fit different organizational necessities and configure core IT needs of service for managing
present necessities of the company. Here, the windows server 210 must be utilized to manage
various services and activities of various areas. Besides, the servers are to be configured with the
active level director domain and must be categorizes to numerous domain as per the branches of
origin.
The capacity, interdependency and interoperability of the system:
At present no servers are installed within the network. Hence, the managing users are issues
for the business. The information and files are to be shared between user of department through pen
drives and emails making the system to get vulnerable towards infection. This must be with virus
and the installation that is unauthorized of the third party software present in that system.
Preferred installation choices:
The Windows server 2010 must get installed with GUI scopes to developing experience of
users and deliver the support that must be utilized to develop the employee’s production. Apart from
that GUI must be installed as the .NET framework must be missing from server core and additional
tools like Microsoft management console, internet explorer and notepad.
Understanding scale of the installation:
Here, the understandable problems with installation must be required to get determined and
the issues are required to get troubleshooted. Besides, the critical problems with the operating system

of windows server is required to be determined and the changes are to be designed, fixes are to be
released with latest features. This is to for managing particular features.
Requirement of data migration:
Here, the tools and documentation are to be utilized to ease migrating settings of server roles
and information from present server to new server implemented to the network that is running the
“Windows 2012” server. Again, the tool for server migration must be present readily there and
permit administrator to migrate features and roles of the setting, shares and server of operating
system and additional data present in the system that runs various edition of the Windows server.
Requirement of the backup:
The feature of windows backup s required to get utilized helping to provide various set of
programs to perform the primary recovery and backup. Here, the option of the windows server
backup could be utilized to perform total backup of every selected amounts and present state of the
system and particular files and folders.
Discussion of recovery requirement:
The recovery requirement is required to devise strategy to determine failure and security of
the resources against various attacks and the recovery from the failure of any event. Further, the
VMware ESX hypervisor has been running physical servers and physical servers failing with virtual
machine that is running over that server can also make the activities get stopped.
The needed resources:
They are highlighted hereafter.
The physical server that has been installed with the windows server 2012 R2
The VmWare workstation that has been utilized in order to virtualize that server

Quad core processor needed to run 64 bit CPU @3 Ghz
6 cores for utilizing the replication of Cross Data Center Replication
16 Gb Ram
The network filesystem like CIFS or NFS.
The storage that is block based.
Apart from that it must also be understood that system must have sufficient memory to run
operating system and virtual server. Here, for instance s the 8 GB of RAM gets dedicated related to
the virtual machine, 8 GB is also required for being present to that physical machine.
Evaluating the needed training:
This is vital to deliver the training to staffs of the company about the network usage and the
service configured within Windows server. At this place the users must get aware regarding
installation of the server and managing the group policy. This would make the common users to get
restricted for installing the software unauthorized within the host machine.
The discussion on plan of deployment:
In order to implement the network an assessment is to be done the necessities of the business
and amount of servers to meet demand of users who are active at the company. Here, the
configuration of physic server is required to get evaluated as per the organizational necessities and
amount of users are required to get served. Apart from that a checklist of planning is required to get
developed. This is after the deployment scenario of that server. At this place the WDS must be
utilized as the guidance regarding the implementation. This is because as it can decrease the
complicacy of the deployment and expenses related to ineffective server installation.
