Introduction:
Considering the current technological world wireless communication and networks are
one of the most impactful area that influences our daily activities. Followed by this concern it is
identified that wireless communication and network is nothing by a technology which helps to
communicate via the utilization of wireless medium.
Apart from several research areas present in the field of wireless communication and
network it is identified that wireless sensor networks are one of the most trending technology.
Wireless sensor networks are those sensors whose primary responsibility is to observe and record
the environmental activities. Studies has mentioned that in the current scenario there significant
problems has been solved by using this technology. Thus, it is decided to discuss about the
wireless sensors and network. In order to do the same a research paper has been selected which is
primarily based on the discussion of wireless sensor network implementation on forest and rural
area with the purpose to detect fire [1].
Followed by the analysis of the nominated research area, this paper will consist a detail
discussion on the methodologies used in this research as well as a critical analysis will be there
to discuss about the effectiveness of the research methodologies. Along with this the result of the
nominated research will be compared with the other researches in order to determine the
significance. Lastly, it will conclude by recommending future research area on this field as well.
Methodologies:
While analyzing the research paper it is identified that the nominated research paper has
mainly aimed to discuss about the implementation of wireless sensor networks in forest areas
with the purpose to detect fire. In order to explain the nominated research topic Jaime, Miguel,

Diana and Sandra has opted for a depth analysis in this area. Followed by this discussion it is
identified that the researcher has shown all of the steps that is needed to structure and implement
a wireless sensor network into any forest [1]. Considering this aspect it is also identified that this
paper has effectively elaborate the possible deployment areas where it is mentioned that rural
areas and the forest areas are the most needful field where it is essential to implement that WSN.
Followed by this identification it is identified that the researcher has clearly mentioned that in
order to detect the fire present in the nominated areas it is very essential to implement the sensors
which will detect eth fire then it will send the alert with the purpose to take precautions. Making
allowance to this concern it is identified that in order to implement this a research has been done
which has suggested effective solution that will help to deploy WSN into the forest and rural
areas. In order to determine the necessity of the selected approach it is identified that the
researcher has analyzed the need of WSN implementation from where it is identified that in the
forest areas the implementation of WSN is very helpful as it will help to detect the fire and
provide awareness to the forest operation head to take immediate action against the incidence
[1]. Followed by this it is also identified that the researcher has then focused on the
determination of the working principles of WSN from which it is identified that in current days
the adoption of wireless sensors are highly effective as it helps to detect unusual activities that
are taking place. Along with these elaboration it has also analyzed several studies based on this
area from which it is identified that many of the researches has already initiated this approach to
detect fire by analyzing the satellite images. However, due to the occurrence of cloud and rain
the visuals gets interrupted and it becomes difficult to monitor forest. Apart from these
identification it has been also noticed that Forest fires surveillance system has been introduced to
study the mountains present in South Korea. Followed by this the author ha then claimed that

although several studies has tried to implement WSN but this research has focused on the
implementation of WSN with wireless IP sensors which is entirely a new approach to detect fire
from forest. While analyzing the implementation method it is identified that in the approached
research there are numerous access points across the forest or rural areas. Along with this it is
also mentioned that the researcher has intended to use the wireless IP sensors which are highly
capable monitor objects from a large distance and these sensors will be interconnected with each
other as well. Along with elaboration the research has proposed a performance test by which it
can be determined whether this designed WSN system is working or not. Followed by these
design the researcher has intended to deploy wireless communication and network devices into
the forest and rural area [1].
Comparison:
Followed by the analysis on the nominated research it is identified that as a result the
researcher has stated that in the nominated research they have provided effective design and
performance test which will help the rural area and forest development department to implement
wireless sensors with the purpose to monitor the environment and detect unusual activities.
Along with this it is also mentioned that as this system is highly effective to detect fire and
smoke as it is proved with the Linksys WRT54GL. Followed by this it is also mentioned that the
adoption of IP sensor networks are highly capable as compare to the others. Whereas, in other
researches they have mentioned that the adoption of cluster and nodes will highly effective to
detect fire that is present in forest. Along with that the research has also mentioned that it is very
essential to look into the power consumption factor as it is very essential to determine the power
consumption level in each node [2]. Considering this identification the researcher has also
mentioned that the closely positioned nodes with cluster consumes less power than the nodes

with maximum distance. Apart from this there is a major difference present between the these
two researches as it is identified that IP sensors are highly capable to detect fire anywhere,
however in case of cluster node system it becomes very difficult to detect fire with long distance
[2].
Critical analysis on research methodology:
Followed by the above discussion it can be stated that the selected study has effectively
elaborated that concept of wireless sensor network with respect to wireless communication and
network. While analyzing the methodologies of this research it is identified that the researcher
has effectively elaborated all of the possible aspect that is related to this research topic. Thus, it
can be stated that this paper has provided a detail elaboration on the necessity of this research.
Along with this it is also identified that in this research it has approached to develop the sensor
with IP Sensors which is also one of the effective system that will surely help to detect fire [1].
Making allowance to this the researcher has provided a performance test where it is mentioned
that the approached system is one of the most effective system that will help to sense the fire and
send alarm. Thus, it can be stated that the research methodologies incorporated into this system
has effectively analyzed all of the possible scenario and then it has helped to provide the best
solution that will address the identified issues in the forest and rural areas.
Recommendation:
After finishing the analysis on the selected research paper it is identified that the
researcher has almost focused on every aspect which may help to enhance the services of
wireless sensor network. Followed by this identification it is identified that it is now
recommended to focus of the alternative solutions of this problem. As it is identified from the
study that the researcher has proposed WSN system that will detect and provide alert to the forest

department whereas in the research the alternative plans are mentioned nowhere. However, it is
very essential to have backup systems that could support the WSN system. Thus, it is
recommended to conduct future research on this area to find the alternative solutions of wireless
sensor network in rural and forest area.
Conclusion:
After completion of this discussion it can be stated that the primary aim of this paper is to
elaborate the aspect of wireless communication and network. In order to discuss the nominated
field this paper has effectively analyzed a research paper which is based on the deployment of
wireless sensor network in rural and forest area. Followed by the analysis this paper has
elaborated the used methodologies in order to conduct the research. Along with the discussion of
research methodologies it had also critically analyzed the research methodologies with the
purpose to determine the effectiveness of these methodologies. Along with discussion in this
paper a detail comparison of the result is also mentioned by which the significance of the
nominated research has been identified. Along with this in the last section it has suggested the
future research direction which help to gain depth understanding of this topic.
