Report
AI Summary
This report examines current wireless technologies, focusing on Wi-Fi 6, 5G, and Nano-satellites. It details their real-time applications, comparing their strengths, weaknesses, and security considerations. Wi-Fi 6 is highlighted for its advanced capabilities in supporting real-time applications, improved range, and the ability to offload traffic from cellular networks. The report also provides a comparison of Wi-Fi generations (802.11n, 802.11ac, and 802.11ax), discusses 5G's potential for faster internet speeds and lower latency, and addresses the evolving role of Nano-satellites in wireless data transmission. The report concludes by proposing Wi-Fi 6 as a preferred technology for its comprehensive support of real-time applications.

Current wireless technologies
Current technologies and networks permit various devices to send data to each other and
also to the web without the use of cables. The current wireless technologies which we shall
discuss includes; WIFI6, 5G and, and Nano-satellites. These technologies are mostly used in
real-time applications and below our discussion on how these technologies are used in real time
application as in [5].
Wi-Fi 6 is a current technology which is set to become faster and better with its
upcoming main update. Due to that, there are enough routers which are consist of chips, then
802.11ax Wi-Fi will never be fully implemented until December 2019, leading to updated new
wireless capabilities that will give towards the next generation network with less congestion and
more speed. High-efficiency wireless currently known as 802.11ax will be referred to as Wi-Fi 6.
The naming convention which will be set up by Wi-Fi alliance will include Wi-Fi 5(802.11ac)
and Wi-Fi 4(802.11n) as in [4] Wi-Fi 6 will be consists of a single user data rate that is 39%
faster than 802.11ac, but what is very crucial is that the specification update will be in a position
of offering four times the throughput per user in the environment which is very crowded for
example [4]. For the various improvements in this technology, 802.11ax implemented a varies
changes which include multi-user technologies which come from the cellular industry such as
OFDMA and MIMO methods that improves performance and capacity by supporting series of
connections. The strength of Wi-Fi is that it allows users to connect to multiple devices over only
one network. In addition, can connect devices in long distance distances without the use of the
cable. The weaknesses of Wi-Fi are that they are more expensive, slower and less secure.
Concerning security issues, WIFI can be vulnerable to data exposure when weak passwords are

used. Below is a clear comparison of the various generation of Wi-Fi in the current technology as
explained [3].

5G technology is the next generation of wireless communication which will be expected
to connect to the internet 40times faster than 4G LTE. The 5G technology may use spectrum
bands which includes millimeter which will carry a large amount of data over a shorter distance.
The weakness of this technology is that it can be easily obstructed by the walls, building, trees
and also the weather. Its strength is that it will be designed to give faster download speeds and
low latency. The security issue in technology is how this technology will be secured from
intruders as in [2]
Nano-satellites this is a current wireless technology which is like mobiles, satellites are getting
better and smaller. The Nanosatellites are the satellites that are almost becoming small in size.
The weakness of this technology is that it will be too costly. Its strength is that is the wireless
technology will be able to transmit data at the highest frequency. The security issue for this
technology is that it can be obstructed by wind and bad weather.

Among the wireless technology which I have talked about the one which I will propose is the
Wi-Fi6, this is because Wi-Fi6 is advanced wireless technology which can fully support real-
time applications. Also as compared to other wireless technologies Wi-Fi covers greater range as
stated [1] Also, wifi6 have various capabilities of offloading traffic from the cellular network in
a place where there are poor receptions and also it supports a series of data streaming with
throughput increase.
