INTRODUCTION
Human resources is a division of every business, whose main objective is recruiting
eligible and qualified people in the organisation and providing specific training to them (Lopez,
2017). Wizz air is a European air line, which provides the services at low cost its headquarter.
This report defines HR, motivation, along with the motivation theory.
1 : HR
HR is a department which focuses on hiring, recruiting, and delivering proper training to
the new as well as the existing employees. It is the responsibility and duty of HR to recruit right
parson at right position. Except this HR has to look after the salary, wages and remuneration of
the employee, and have to take care about the rules, regulations and laws for then safety of
employees re being followed or not. The role of HR in Wizz air is very crucial as it is an airline
company, the role of HR is to hire perfect candidate for the post of pilot, apart from this HR is
responsible for selecting, flight crew and other back office staff.
2 : Motivation
It is a procedure of guiding, encouraging, and uplifting the employees or any human to
achieve their goal. “Motivation” is acquired from motive which means, encouraging people
towards their motive and goal. Motivation is a reason behind the every action of employee.
3 : Motivational theory
There are few theories of motivation is used by the companies or organisations to
motivate the employees towards their targets and goals -
Maslow's hierarchy of neds
This theory has been propounded by Abraham Maslow, according to them any person can
get motivated when their needs and desires got fulfilled (Federici, 2019). The needs begin from
the lowest to the highest.
Physiological need
As per this needs, any employee or person should satisfy the needs of basic amenities
which are necessary for survival such as – food, air, shelter, clothing water etc.
Safety needs
This is the second level; need of the hierarchy, and on this stage safety and security
becomes the priority of employees and people as well. This need includes financial safety,
health, security against any injury etc.

Social needs
This need includes, family, friends, social groups, society etc. It comes on third level but
plays a vital role because these are very important and without this need people can't live because
personal relation, family and friends are very important for any individual.
Esteem need
After satisfying all three needs, esteem need starts (Rheinberg, 2018). This need shows
reputation and respect, every person wants to feel respected and recognized in the society.
Self-actualization needs
It is the highest level of need which includes personal development, learnings, what a
person can do etc. it shows the capability and talent of a person, and how can they fulfil their
dreams as well.

McGregor X and Y theory
This theory has been introduced by McGregor, they have explained two factors of human
behaviours at work place. In short it shows the views of employees, factor X reflects negative
view, while as Factor Y shows positive side.
Theory X
It describes that employees are not motivated towards their work and try to avoid the
work. This kind of employees get motivated by giving thread and loosing job and they are
majorly observed by the management.
Theory y
This type of employees put more efforts to perform their job efficiently and
enthusiastically, these employees don't require any kind of punishment and threat for motivation,
because they take the responsibility seriously and willingly, even they don't need much guidance
as well because they are highly self-motivated.

4 : Background of Wizz Air
This company belongs to aviation industry, it is a European company whose headquarter
is situated in Budapest. Wizz air provides its services in many countries including Europe, North
Africa, Middle east etc. This company is known for providing low- cost services around the
glob. Few years back, this company has launched the British division called Wizz air UK, which
is purely in London, the reason behind introducing this is to take advantage of take-off and
landings as London is the biggest city of UK and many passengers come and go out from UK
(Akhmetshin, 2018).
5 : Motivation to the employees of Wizz Air
As this company operates in aviation industry, and they are providing services to their
customers. For providing better and unique services to the customer so that they don't switch to
other companies is only becomes possible when the employee of Wizz air remains motivated,
because motivated employees make the company more competitive in the market. For giving
motivation to employees, Wizz Air is providing proper training and development to the
employees, it will help them to enhance their performance and when they perform well, their
work get appreciated and this will boost confidence among them. Trained employees will
perform their work and task enthusiastically.
The aviation industry is highly growing in all over the world, and this will develop team
spirit among the employees because they are well aware about the opportunities they will receive
in upcoming future. Wizz air is giving many rewards, incentives and promotion to the employees
so that they stay motivated towards their job. Apart from this, company is providing merit pay
grid to their employees which boost confidence and motivation among them, and employees will
become more hard working (Schunk, 2020). The main thing which all employee wants is
flexibility in working, so Wizz air is providing flexible working hours to its employees sop they
don't feel their job as a burden even Wizz air is providing equal opportunity to men and women
so that employees don't feel partiality in the company. These are the steps being taken by the
company to motivate its employees.
CONCLUSION
By analysing the entire report it is concluded that, this report shows the value and role of HR in
the company. Apart from this, motivation has been explained in this report, and hoe the company

can take help from the motivational theories for providing motivation to the employees. Except
this, brief introduction about the company has been elaborated in this report however this report
shows various steps have been followed by the company to motivate its employees.
