INTRODUCTION
Information technology solution company is worked with the help of various specialists
that helps in making the working team very effective and involved within core areas of the
ongoing project. It involves having business with expert guidance within its management and
exhibiting various range of needs related to information technology. AstraSystems is one such IT
solution organisation that aims to deliver niche solutions involved in transformation of manual
ways into digital solutions (Tian, Hao, & Gen, (2019). This company is responsible for building
and managing the processes involved in the smart city project. Wolton, smart city, is looking for
expanding to digital plans and providing high automation based service that will replace the
manual and hard for the same task. This report deals with solving the problems involved within
creating digital platforms and portals for Wolton by AstraSystems. There is an analysis of the
issues and problems that are coming within its way while finding ways to mitigate these issues.

The work done by Wolton is done on the basis of manual methods that created many
problems such as important data being missed out or fed in inappropriately. All such issues led
the company to work on the solutions that are based on digital platforms and will help in
providing high automation towards providing its core services and eliminating high paper work.
This project is aimed to replace the manual work and have city- wide digital platforms
incorporated within all the public offices and services. The city is looking to evolve with the
change in the technological advancements and connect all the public offices operating within the
city. The target audience that will use these digital solutions are the individuals aged between 18
and 65. They must posses technological skills. It is essential to make a plan that includes all the
areas and processes involved within it while implementing the ideas that will helps in
introducing new services.
The benefits attained by this projects involves having optimised processes that will offer
automation and will fulfil some time- consuming task easily (Mahalleh, & et.al., (2017)). With
such technology, individuals can focus on strategic activities thus, making the process of dealing
with public work in efficient way and with enhanced productivity. With the smart city project,

the public of area will be more satisfied with the work and related outcomes. Technology
involves having lower operational costs as resources such as human resources can be put to
better use. It provides people to work with tools and have the power of sharing the information in
easy way. These tools will interact better and provide seamless experience the whole time.
Assumptions
Assumptions within this project are the factors that are associated with being true during
the whole time without any proof as such. These assumptions help in identifying potential risks
and issues and managing ways to solve these issues (Özcan, & et.al., (2018)). The assumption
within this project is that there will be access to all the resources that are required top complete
each stage within the project life cycle. There will be working electricity during the whole
working hours. It will be assumed that the cost of the products and materials required will not
change and stay consistent throughout. Moreover, the scope of the project will not be changed
throughout the complete cycle.
Project Constraints
Project constraints are the factors where the dependencies are not clears. They work as
causing limitations for the project in a way that can also make it a failure. It is essential for the
working team to work under these constraints. Some of the major constraints involved in this
project includes, the budget of the project, that is pre- defined and must not go beyond the set
budget while the allocation of all the resources must be done on this basis. The deadline of the
project is another constraint and can affect the quality of the work done.
Project life cycle
Project initiation: This stage marks an important phase that will help in a kick off for
building digital solutions properly. It includes evaluating various options as well as possibilities
that will work together towards the threats faced within the smart city project. It helps in defining
a broad range of areas that includes collaboration between the working teams. The initial stage
involves the brainstorming ideas and discussing the milestones as well as roles for each of the
working individual involved in the project (Young, Feydy, & Schutt, (s2017, August)). Project
initiation document is framed involving the purpose along with major requirements of the
project.

requires having more time and attention towards other members of the team. Plan determines the
resources and its allocation based on tasks and responsibilities. It helps in increasing the
accuracy and providing insights regarding past projects to learn from previous failures. It reduces
the chances of wasting the cost on inaccurate resources. Within resource planning, the resources
are allocated based on various teams such as technical teams, finance department and producing
team. There is proper timeline developed that is 1 year for creating digital platforms for smart
city project.
Project execution: This is also known as delivering phase to make the plan into motion
by working with all the resources, tools and respective duties. This stage involves managing the
risks associated with the plan and avoiding any failure (Boaz, & et.al., (2018)). Professional
services helps in having in- depth and major responsive delivery phase. With the help of
managing the risks and costs, conflicts associated with it can also be reduced. Having
transparency within the ongoing work will exhibit quicker delivery time and producing more
satisfying results.
Project closure: This marks the last step for the project activity where the report is

and create certain hierarchy within the interfaces. It determines the size, style and colour for the
application. It helps in highlighting the important elements that can influence the user response.
This is followed by designing multiple holds as people hold the phones differently. It includes
designing different elements in the comfortable areas. Next is planning for the sales funnel where
one can learn about the work that can be done from the application (Alvarez, & Sachs, (2021)). It
provide the steps in which the work can be done and analysing all the other process involved
within the smart city work. The application will help the users make payments and make

decisions on certain parameters. The checkout process in the application is an interactive process
where users will enter their personal data and card details to make any payments.

Digitalisation as a part of smart city can be a complex concept and involves many
stakeholders. These include,
Family: They are the basic units involved for Wolton. They are individuals living in the
city including the parents and their children amplifying to understand the complex behaviours in
order to gather information. Having understanding of this group is important for the children and
elder sections that are one part of the public using these services.
Business owners: Businesses are an important part of city (Heckert, & et.al., (2020)).
Identifying its needs and requirements will help the businesses to grow and improve the local
economy of the place and creating better life for its citizens. Good working business will attract
human capital and creating better business within the place.
Young adults: Cities involve various dynamic process going on within and a lot of
activities are done by the young adults. They are an important part within the city and therefore,
it is essential to consider their needs and making things easy for them so that they can access
culture, working events and develop impactful characteristics.
Power users: This includes each individual working at the level of decision- making
process of smart city operations. It consists of public officials having access to all the data and
relevant information as well as related technologies that helps in operation of the IT
infrastructure.
Issues faced
While working on developing the digital ways, there are various issues one can face.
There are serious risks that are important to assess before the process of launching e- commerce
application for the purpose of developing smart city. These issues include:
Online security breach: e- commerce applications are very prone to be vulnerable for
having cyber attacks and breach of the personal and important information. These issues can lead
to risks such as hacking the information, unprotected services and many more that can cause
harm to the major stakeholders. Hackers are looking to breach the networks in order to gain
access of very sensitive information that is mostly related to the city council (Alhayani, & et.al.,

(2021)). This makes it important to have very strong security on the e- commerce application
made for public use.
Poor customer service: This factor will affect the public as well as the members of city
council. There are many individuals and users of the application that are new to all the
technology and its advances. This makes it hard for them to learn and work smoothly on such
digital platforms and thus, requires a customer service department that will guide them to the
easy use and working of this application. Bad customer service will make people put in negative
reviews for such initiatives towards smart city will not make their living satisfactory within the
city. It also includes having many loopholes such as rude customer service and exhibiting
unprofessional behaviours that will affect the inventory process.
Weak authentication methods: It involves having a weak and basic authentication
methods that makes the e- commerce application more prone to cyber- attacks. With weak
authentication, it provides opportunity to any anonymous individual to execute the mobile
application even encourages keeping short and weak passwords (Wolff, K. (2018, December)).
With the weak authentication, there are high chances that the sensitive and personal information
of its users can be stolen and will be vulnerable to misuse. Strong authentication methods are
required to build up online security that will work to resist any cyber related attacks. The
technical impact of having the issue of weak authentication involves unable to identify the
performance of users based on the action request and contributes to the inability to detect main
source of the attack and related under exploits.
Recommendations
In order to solve the issues of security breaches, the solution recommended includes
following the best management practices that will help the city council to avoid leaking any
important and sensitive information. The project can include the use of additional layers for the
network security. After this, layer of network security is added on the website modes that
connects with the contact forms, sign up boxes and other search queries. It is essential to initial
an end at the transactions with proper certifications. Moreover, one must select a safe and secure
form of e- commerce platform that is oriented towards objectives of the project and such
programming language. A group of individuals can be made to work on monitoring the
application on regular basis and check for any viruses within the server. At the ends, it is

important that minimum amount of data is stored on such application such as excluding some
very old records.
The solution to avoid the issues with customer service is to hire individuals that are
always polite while focusing on the expectations of the public. One must apologise for any
mistake and be patient enough to teach the new individual about working of an e- commerce
application. City council must try to provide with some accurate deliverables to the public and
keep everything transparent to avoid any conflicts. Following the approach of personalisation
helps in making good impression on the users.
In the case of having weak authentication issues, it is recommended to solve the issue
while making use of two- factor and multi- factor authentication methods that is the best way to
improve the online security. Moreover, this even helps in adding extra layer to keep the security
high by asking for verification code from its users apart from the initial user ID and passwords.
In addition to this, poor authentication can be detected that will help in eliminating these risks on
prior basis. The suggested ways for detecting the poor and weak authentication are to identify
such schemes and testers that will perform attacks against the application while being in the
offline mode. This attack will help in executing functionality required for offline authentication.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that smart city project of Wolton involves building a digitalised
approach that will me maximum used by the age group of 18 to 65. This is done to transfer from
the manual ways to the digital platforms. Wolton is in need of having a secure and connected
platform within its digital solution. Digital platforms such as an e- commerce application will
help the city council to stay up to date with the changing demands and trends that includes the
registration process involving Ids, and other documents within the employment related process.
e- commerce application is made that exhibits some issues that can be solved with some
recommended ways. Astra company will generate solutions that will help Wolton to focus on the
digital plan and its overall objectives.
