Women’s empowerment is indicative of the process by taking recourse to which the
women are promoted to participate in the different sectors. The women in the society feel
motivated in the event of being empowered in the society. It can pave the path for building a
strong economy that can improve quality of the life of people in the society. The women can
take the decisions when they are empowered that can help in improving the condition of their
life. The empowerment of the women can help them in emerging as independent people who
would be able to handle the problems in the society (Brown, Platt and Beattie 2015). The
participation of the women is essential in the arena of decision making which can be
instrumental in empowering them. It can end the problem of hunger that exists in the world
that can create a better world in the future. The women can act as the driver that can help in
mitigating the hunger within the world. This essay discusses about empowerment of the
women that can help in ending the hunger of the world.
Women carry out various kinds of roles within rural areas like the farmers, farm
workers and the entrepreneurs. The women form the backbone in the rural society as they
involve themselves in various kinds of work in the villages. Women in the villages make the
contributions to that of process of food production and that of food processing. The women
process the food which is available that helps in taking care of the element of food security of
the community. The women make up 45 percent of the total of the agricultural labour force
within the framework of the developing countries. It has been found to range from that of 20
percent in the Latin America to the 60 percent in Africa and in Asia (News.un.org 2019).
The energy that the rural women have helps in permeating across different parts of the food
system. It helps in diversification of that of sustainable agriculture that is instrumental in
promoting bio-fortification. It plays a crucial role in reducing food loss and that of waste. The
women helps in supporting food processing which is instrumental in creating way for that of
improved nutrition.

The women who are empowered helps in improving social status of women.
Improving status of women bears a direct influence on that of food security and that of
nutrition. The nutrition of the children can be improved when the status of the women are
improved in the society. The women should be allowed to control additional household
income that can help them in spending the right amount of money on the food and the
education of the children (Patel et al. 2015). The women in the society being treated in an
equal manner like the men can help in serving the cause of the future generations.
Empowering of the rural women can improve well-being of that of children and that of the
community. It can aid in the process of economic growth of the countries in the longer span
of time.
The women should be provided with the opportunity of getting access to that of the
productive resources in Africa and Asia that can improve food security. The women should
get the right amount of the social protection and that of market opportunities that can
augment position of the women in the society. It can help the women in taking the major
decisions that can prove to be beneficial for the development of society. Policy interventions
can empower that of rural women and it can close the gender gap within the framework of
rural labour markets (Malapit et al. 2017). Investments should be made in that of
productivity-enhancing technologies that can reduce drudgery of the people. It can aid the
women in the rural areas in laying emphasis on that of productive activities.
Growth has taken place in the population that have been instrumental in creating the
food insecurity within the world. The slowdown within the global economy have led to the
shortage of the food in the world. The estimate has revealed that around 795 million people
within the world are living in an undernourished state in between the years 2014-2016 (Singh
et al. 2018). The people in the present time do not get the right amount of food for leading a
healthy life. The women can help in addressing the hunger and that of malnutrition within the

framework of the developing countries. The women comprise to be 43 percent of the labour
force in the agricultural sector and they play an important role in the economy of the rural
areas (Mulema et al. 2019). In Africa, it has been found that eight out of the ten agricultural
workers are the women. On the other hand, in Asia six of the agricultural labourers out of the
ten labourers are the women. Rural women makes up two-third out of the 400 million
livestock keeper. The women provide the nutrition to the families and they take care of the
nutrition of their family by the cleaning and the cooking of food (Reddy 2017). The women
are endowed with the responsibility of ensuring the fact that food reaches out to the children
at the outset. The leadership positions being offered to the women can be helpful for women
in exercising rights and it can make the valuable contribution to the different institutions that
are in the society.
Gender inequality in the society within the framework of the developed and that of
developing countries in relation to the unpaid work deprives the women folk in the villages
from getting various kinds of opportunities (Burroway 2016). The women do not get the right
of participating in the political arena that proves to be harmful for the development of the
women in the society. The women can reveal the hidden potential in the event of being
empowered that can be instrumental in increasing the production in the agricultural sector. It
can improve rural livelihood and generate the income that can improve well-being of the
community.
There exists a deep link lying in between gender equality and the food security in the
modern age. The women can reduce the poverty existing in the world and they can take care
of food security within the society. The needs of women should be greatly laid stress on in
the present time and they should be brought to the forefront of trade that can end hunger on
the earth. It can create the way for realizing the sustainable development that can benefit
entire society. It can help in relieving the poverty of the people and help in addressing losses

in that of economic growth opportunities (Cisse-Egbuonye et al. 2017). The
acknowledgement of the role of the women can help in providing the women with the equal
rights in the society. Contributions that are made by the women can be provided with the

provided with the opportunity of gaining equal access to that of agricultural technologies that
can be helpful in improving standard of living of the people.
Gender differences in relation to the land tenure can be said to be critical because the
rural women contributes significantly to the process of that of global food production. The
women can be afforded the opportunity of owning assets that can be instrumental in
protecting them in the society. It can prove to be useful in increasing bargaining power of that
of women which can end hunger within the world. The women in the event of becoming the
food entrepreneur can remove problems in relation to hunger within the world (News.un.org
2019). Women can make the transformative financing that can help in taking care of the
element of the gender equality in the society. The women can gain control over the
productive resources which can improve resilience in relation to food supplies. The women
can reach potential in the society that can ensure the nutrition security within the world.
The women are discriminated against in the society and they have less productive
resources when compared to that of the men. Various reports have brought out the fact that
women earn less when compared to men. The women are meted out differential treatment in
the society that gives rise to the problem of malnutrition within society. The women within
the developing countries work in that of subsistence farming but they do not have sufficient
resources like that of the men. World Bank statistics has brought out that female farmers
getting access to productive resources can be instrumental in improving the status that the
women have in the society (Worldbank.org 2019). It can help in increasing the agricultural
output by a margin of 2.5-4 percent. The policies that are made for the empowering of the

women can increase earning potential of that of women in the society. It can be instrumental
in ending the misery related to malnutrition on the earth.
UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has suggested that women having all
the resources can bring down the hunger of people and it can help 100-150 million people in
retaining their health within the wider society (Fao.org 2019). The women feed the children
but they do not get the support of the men in caring for the children. The developing countries
have to face the problem of the malnutrition in the society. There are powerful factors in the
society like the norms along with the values that gives rise to inequities in the society. Civil
society can carry out work together with government that can prove to be useful in ending
discriminatory practices that are rampant in the society against the women. Research has
brought out the fact that yields of that of women farmers are lesser as compared to that of the
men (Nhamo, Muchuru and Nhamo 2018). The women are deprived of getting the access to
improved seeds along with the fertilizers that brings down the production of the women. The
estimates of the food agencies has brought out that that women in the developing countries
spend a large portion of the working hours by the production of food in the fields. The
women however continue to be the victim of malnourishment in the society. This hints at the
discrimination that prevails in the society against the women. The economic inequities in the
world in the event of being addressed properly can end hunger within the world. The women
can take up the empowering positions of teacher and that of entrepreneur that can help in
building a better world that is free from any kind of the malnutrition. The empowerment of
the women with that of education can help in increasing the independence that the women
have in the society. It can help the women in making right nutritional choices that can greatly
benefit their families. World Food Programme (WFP) has stated that women can play an
important role in ending the global hunger. The prioritizing of the programs can help in
reducing the disparities in the society.

marketing which can help in removing the malnutrition in the world. It can help in taking
care of the element of food security in the community. The empowerment of women can

of women should be prioritised in the society that can improve conditions of that of living of
people. It can aid in the process of sustainable development of society that can contribute to
the overall well-being of the society. The endowing of power on the women can help them in
owning the assets that can protect them. It can be instrumental in increasing the bargaining
power of the women which can end the hunger of the world.
