Women in the Military
The global advancement, along with the growth of globalization, has not been the
same accelerator for women as it has been for men. It can be traced back to the unavailability
and lack of equal opportunity in the recruitment of men and women. The rate of inclusion in
their capacities in various countries but they have been successful in whichever designation
they have served. The thesis statement of the essay stands for the dissection of the
perceptions of why women are not allowed equal enrollment opportunity in the military. The
conventional thought process which is responsible for discrimination based on gender and
physical strength stands in the way women can add to the strength and enhance the military
with their contribution. It leads to inequality in terms of the opportunity of education, which
further leads to the attainment of designation within the army as well.
The military has always been considered as the most prestigious sector of service, and
the availability of enrollment for women will open up an avenue for the most important step.
It will help navigate one of the significant barrier, which is access to education. Education
has been one of the pivotal barriers on the route to attainment of equality in employment in
all the major sectors when it comes to women. Access to education will not only enable
women to enrol themselves for the military (Andreasson, 2016). However, it will also provide
them with the opportunity to look forward to aspiring for higher posts and serve in them.
Teaching a generation of women opens the opportunity of the next generation for even higher
studies which in turn will give them independence financially. Military services and the
attached facilities will help them to understand the importance of career growth and an
understanding of the present opportunities in the field. Women’s involvement in the military
has a huge scope due to their nurturing and caring nature that is an essential part of the field
in the fronts. They can be employed as nurses and doctors that can save the lives of the
wounded soldier without losing time.

2WOMEN IN THE MILITARY
The inclusion of women in the military started with the World wars when the
destruction reached the point where there was a lack of young men. The loss of lives had
compelled the government, and the organizations run on the patriarchal perception of women
being weaker in physical strength were forced to take them in the military to boost their size.
With the increase in women and their involvement and contribution in another field such as
science and inventions, it can be estimated that their inclusion in the military will add to the
growing technological advancement (Ferla & Graham, 2019). The avenue of being able to
have the choice of recruiting themselves gives them the empowerment of having the choice in
their life, which enhances their self-confidence. They have proved in other fields of their
ability to be adaptable to a new atmosphere which can prove to be useful for military use, and
they can be trained for urgent tasks in a very short time.
Women have been subjected to physical abuse as well as mental due to the stigma
around their physical weakness. Military training will help them overcome both mental abuse
and the ability to defend themselves against physical abuse. It has been seen in many fronts
that through training, women have been able to surpass their male counterparts easily (Geller,
et al., 2018). It has been observed in various combat training agencies that women are being
accepted as trainers due to their excellence skill.
It is still a long way before we can achieve equality in the recruitment of women as
these organizations and their cultural norms are biased and are based on the perspective
which sees women as the weaker subject among the two. The difference in the capacity that
is observed in various countries in women involvement is mainly due to their acceptance of
the perception that their involvement will lead to distraction among men and might lead to
the missions being compromised (Pebole & Hall, 2019). These two points are always backed
by the enduring power of the women, which is considered to be inferior to their male
counterparts. On the contrary, countries which have accepted and emerged above these biases

show that involvement of women in the field creates healthy competition which causes better
focus and aim among the individuals.
The general assumption of women as being weaker than their male counterparts still
holds the highest position behind the cause for the unequal opportunity in the women
enrollment in the military. However, the display of gradual acceptance is a welcome change
in the face of globalization and growth in capitalism that makes it impossible to run a family
completely dependent on the earning of an individual.
