Status of Women Globally
Women are fighting hard for getting their rights in a country. Be it Canada or Iraq and Iran, women are
now wanting safety and equal rights. According to World Health Organization (WHO), about one-third of
women have suffered from domestic violence, sexual abuse globally. Over 133 million women and girls
have faced genital mutilation and around 4.5 million women have entered into a forced sexual
relationship. According to (Jones, 2015), 4, 00,000 have been assaulted sexually and around 85,000 girls
and women are raped. These are just registered cases. There are some cases which are not even
registered. In 1970, there were about 2700 abortions were done. There were many cases which
questioned the laws for empowering and protecting women. There came a ray of home where a child
care support gave their hand for support. They encouraged women for doing their job and raising their
children rather than doing one thing at a time (Guruge, et.al, 2012).
Many people including celebrities, women and girls have raised their voices and have demanded for
equal rights and safety. Street marches and rallies are being conducted for getting the answers from the
Government. But a question arises? Why are men quiet when talking about women issues? What and
how they can help in getting rights to women?
Whenever, issues of feminism are shared, we hear less of a man’s voice about the issue. In fact, there
are some cases which say that aggression of a man has to be faced by women. This can be in the form of
domestic violence or sexual violence or any other substitute (Mandapati, et.al, 2015). Men can help in
raising the thoughts and violence. There is a long-term belief that the men are superiors then women.
So why not this superiority should be used for a good cause? Men should raise voices for women. It will
not only support women, but will be heard in many ears.
Change in the psychology of men is necessary. There are some men who have a very wrong perception
about women. It is about their equal rights, safety, for sex, etc. this perception needs to change. Men

have to understand that they don’t have control over women. If the attitude will not change, the worse
will happen. Many campaigns and HeforShe campaign which was run by Emma Watson encouraged
supporting men for women. These campaigns are needed more to change the world’s scenario. Not only
men will stop killing and raping, but will the world’s image will change (Jones, 2015).
Humour can be effective in conveying serious messages to the readers. This is because by adding
humour, a person can easily relate and remember the thing for long. Humor is used to convey a sort of
information quickly to the readers. Humor will also act as a satire. It also pin-points the target party
without even defaming. That’s why most of the readers therefore use humor in the story. The side role
of humor is that it can make the reader identified. The reader can relate to the characters and the
words. This humor writing can be used for fighting women issues because we need the audience to
relate themselves with the scenario. The women support should increase in order to eradicate the
violence and assaults.
