Historical event and its significance
The women suffrage movement was part of overall “women’s right movement”. The
women suffrage movement was the struggle for the women’s right to vote and run office. The
protest started in the 1984 in America and after a century movement, the women of the
country got the right to vote through the 19th Amendment Act in US Constitution in 1920.
This movement was initiated by the Seneca Falls Convention that was organised by
Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. This movement has a huge social impact on the
American society. The suffrage movement is considered to be the first movement in the
history of women rights. The suffrage rights of the women was the first step towards gender
equality as well. Hence, the significance of the movement can be understood easily.

In order to collect the information of the women suffrage movement, the secondary resources
like the articles, journals, newspaper report and the books can play an important role. The
following articles have been chosen as the secondary resource for this study.

These two articles have presented the two part of the society that was impacted by the women
suffrage movement. The basic concepts of the articles are based on the societal effect of the
women suffrage movements. This is the similarity of the papers. The difference lies in the
approach of the papers. Both of the paper re about the social impact but they are centred on
two different part of the society. Hence, one can get a broader picture of the impact of the
topic. This makes the paper appropriate for my study. The study question is based on the
societal influence. The different perspective will give the audience idea of the impact on the
immigrant ethnic part of the society and the equality aspects of the movement. This was
considered as the first powerful women movement in the country towards women liberation
nd equality. This is why the impact should be judged from a wider view. The research
methods of the article selected would also help the researcher to get an idea of how he can
conduct the research in an effective way. The articles were selected from fifty search results
have the same keywords. The approach of these articles are more aligned to the research
questions, hence these are selected to be most apt for the research purpose.
