1INTEGRATING PLACEMENT
Getting placed in Woolworths has helped me to integrate my studies in my chosen field. My
responsibilities in the company included looking after the safety of food and products, handling
cash and filling orders. My professor has taught in the class about order filling and other such
tasks which I can implement in my workplace. It was not at all difficult for me to manage the
product orders at Woolworths because I have done a practical activity in my class regarding this.
I was trained about how to handle cash by my professor which helped me manage the task of
billing at Woolworths. Prior teachings and training on several job roles has helped me to
undertake any kind of tasks without thinking a bit. Woolworths does not compromise at all when
it comes to food quality and safety. This is their major area of concern and they do not want to
hamper their reputation in any way. I was assigned with the most important task of the company
and my classroom teaching helped me to be successful in this part too. There was an assignment
on the food value and safety which gave me the insight about how things are likely to be. Thus,
the lessons learnt at class about managing work orders, cash and product values were beneficial
and advantageous in the workplace. My placement in Woolworths helped me implementing my
theoretical knowledge into practice. This will also be helpful for my future aspect in the chosen
field.
