Introduction
Achievement of sustainability is always Prime concern for every organisation around the
world. Similarly, the Australian company the Woolworths has also presented every year their
objectivity related to sustainability report within the organisation for the society
acknowledgement. The Woolworths group have provided 2020 commitment, which shows
that they prefer listening and learning to the requirement of the people around the society.
According to the diverse group of the business, the organisation is enacted by the common
purpose and gold which help them create better experiences for the people around them.
Sustainability aspects of Woolworths
The purpose of the sustainability group of Australian company the Woolworths are quite
directed to overall development of society. We see that their values, purpose and their way of
working are all related with each other. Most interestingly the sustainability is all based upon
creating better experiences together to work till the end as a team by listening to the views
and objectives of the customers.
One of the prime concerns of the organization was moving of the economy to a circular
mode. To ensure a success in that, the organisation decided to have zero food waste going to
landfill. Zero food waste going to land field is one of the sustainable activities that
organisation committed on achieving, which they actually fulfilled in the year 2018
(Woolworthsgroup.com.au, 2019). The journey of the organisation in February after
launching the strategy for 2020 resulted in achieving board with 50% of women with
certainly is sustainable growth of the organisation as for the achievement criteria of United
Nation. Sustainability does not always relate to environment, but also is related to the
prosperity of society. In response to the development of social sustainability, the organisation
donated 1% of the earnings before income tax to the community cause across Australia and
New Zealand (Wow2017cr.qreports.com.au, 2019). The objectivity of launching a social
Framework as presented in the strategy target of 2020 was also fulfilled by 2018, by
reviewing and launching new responsible Sourcing Framework for policy and standard
management (Woolworthsgroup.com.au, 2019).
In terms of understanding the objectivity of 2020 on product innovation, the organisation
somewhat achieved the goal by removing the artificial colours and flavours provided in a
product which also resulted in a reduction of saturated fat and sodium across the branded
product. In response to the understanding of Energy Management, the organisation

commenced energy management Centre. Those centres resulted in excellence by
minimization of carbon emission by 13% from 2015 level (Woolworthsgroup.com.au, 2019).
Among the completed objectivity of sustainability within the society, the organisation is still
yet to achieve providing of social impact report to understand the positive changes that are
actually happening due to the development within the Organisation in the field of health,
economic development and emergency relief (Woolworthsgroup.com.au, 2019).
Conclusion
The improvement of recyclability of the brand packaging presented by the organisation in a
circular economy is also to be achieved in 2020 as per the target set by the sustainable
managers of the organisation.
