The Basic suite turns out to be very much advantageous if they are used by the
students as well as the teachers. Basic suite mainly refers to the word processing, spreadsheet
software and presentation software. This essay mainly discusses about the various
advantages of using the basic suite. Along with this the essay provides the advantages of each
specific software.
The main advantage of using the basic suite is that it saves time, this is due to the fact
that writing without any assistance from the basic suites takes a lot of time. Besides another
advantage of using the basic suite is that it provides a lot of more functions and capabilities
which are not available while writing by hand. Along with this the products created with the
help of this software are much more dynamic and interesting.
The word processing software is not inherently educational but still it acts as a helpful
tool for the students and teachers. This software provides the student with a more opportunity
of writing as writing by this software is much faster than writing by hand (Buabeng-Andoh,
2012). This initially helps the student in focusing more on their works. Some of the basic
word processing software includes the Microsoft Word, Apple Pages or Google Docs.
After the word processing software comes the spreadsheet software. In the early days
this software was very much useful for the PC as it made the usage of machines very easy. In
today’s world the usage of spreadsheet turns out to be very much beneficial for various
reasons. Spreadsheet acts as a helpful tool for keeping the information in a list format like the
name, contact detail, address and many more (Haspekian, 2014). Another advantage of this
software is that it also helps in the calculation. This software is also helpful in the process of
importing and exporting of the information to and from various type of software programs.
Example of Spreadsheet software includes the Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers or Google
Sheets.

Another application included in the basic suite is the presentation software. This
software helps a lot in presenting the information by making use of various graphics, colour
scheme, and images along with the text. The software has a feature of hyperlink between two
slides which helps a lot in moving from one part of the slide to another slide very easily
(Thielsch & Perabo, 2012). This software can also be used for the purpose of creating an
interactive practice activity for the students as they are able to choose from an option for a
multiple activity for the students. Few examples of the presentation software include the
Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Keynote or Google Slides.
Lot of positive aspects has been brought by the use of the basic suite in the field of
education. The use of basic suite is likely to increase in the future. This bas suite will greatly
enhance the productivity of the student as well as the teachers along with helping them get all
the things done in an easy and quicker way.
